Catch a whiff of the buzz
Character(s): Squall & Rinoa
Location: Squall's office, 3F
Rating: G?
Open/Closed/Finished: Closed
Summary: Looks like they've both read the newsletter. And the juicy little snippet in the gossip columns. Uh oh.
Waking up to only have a newsletter shoved into his hands by a giggling and blushing cadet delivering them to the third floor rooms was not the best way to greet the commander. Ever. It led to Squall turning back to his office and slapping his hand on the keypad to close the door shortly behind him. He moved to his desk and tossed the newsletter down before dropping down into his chair. He pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed, closing his eyes. He sat that way for a few more moments and straightened, reaching to take up the newsletter. Settling back in the chair, Squall began to skim over the contents.
Dr. Kadowaki was seeking an apprentice. The Garden Festival Committee was also seeking members.
And then.
‘Around Garden: What’s New?’
Squall narrowed his eyes as he began to read the column but as soon as they shifted over to the next one, drawn to the words ‘Commander Leonhart’ and ‘Quistis Trepe’, he straightened up in his chair. His eyes dropped to the bottom of the first column to ‘The Welcoming Ball was ripe…’ and then jerked up to the start of the next one, reading over the little box of text slowly.
“…This is a nightmare.” I didn’t dance with just Quistis. I danced with Rinoa. Why the hell didn’t they mention that?
Squall threw the newsletter onto his desk with a slight scowl and leaned back into his chair, turning to face the windows and glower out at the blue sky as if that was really the problem. Not the gossip.
