Characters: Sharpay Evans and Pinkie Pie
Location: Cafeteria
Rating: PG tops?
Open/Closed/Finished: Closed
Summary:Exceeding everyone's daily pink quota Friends catchup!
Even on good days, Sharpay had always found Pinkie Pie... overwhelming. Her energy and sheer enthusiasm for life were hard to match, but they was certainly infectious.
But between awkwardness with Tom, her salary being decreased as she was trying to save money, and Rinoa disappearing (back to her own time, Sharpay half-hoped), Pinkie's contagious cheer was exactly what Sharpay needed. And so she grabbed her friend for lunch in the cafeteria, though she was visibly picking at her meal: She'd never been a fan of cafeteria food, and considering she was eating here to save money, she couldn't exactly pay the cafeteria workers to make her something more appealing the way she did in high school.
"I was in a rush when I saw you last week, but I wanted to tell you: I love the lollipop idea," she said with a grin. "Giveaways are a great campaign strategy."
She didn't mind being ineligible for homecoming queen this year too much, having already won it last year (not to mention homecoming and prom queen back home). This would be her first time supporting a friend in a campaign and not just to help her own, which admittedly had been most of her motivation for making Tom her running partner.
Idly, she wondered if Pinkie would take a running partner. This year's King candidates were... varied, to say the least.

"You think so?! I WAS gonna make a GINORMOUS CAKE bigger than your hair, but one, it wouldve taken away from this week's prep time, and two your hair would have gotten jealous!"
At seeing that Sharpay was picking at her food, Pinkie offered the other half to her pita. It would have been too big for her to eat, and she can always make more food later.

Her mood was lifting already. She couldn't help but smile around Pinkie, not to mention laugh at the idea of her hair getting jealous of a cake.
"I own enough clip-in extensions that my hair could cope," she replied. "What do you have planned for this week?"
Gratefully, she took the pita with a "thanks". She hated to freeload off of her friends, but Pinkie was offering; it wouldn't have been polite to refuse. Plus, Pinkie was an excellent cook, and this kind of thing was right up her alley of balanced meals.

There was that smile! Pinkie grinned and hummed at the question. "Besides making sure cadets know how to care for their chicobos, not very much! I think I need to head out to the market some some ingredients for my next dinner with Chammy!"
She said that so casually too, taking a bite out of her wrap.

"Next dinner?" she repeated, fascinated. "There was a first - an intentional first?"
She'd seen some of Pinkie's discussions with Instructor Champloo on the BBS, but she hadn't kept up with Pinkie as much as she should have. Which she was kicking herself for now. Pinkie clearly had some excitement going on in her life even beyond her homecoming nomination, and Sharpay had clearly been a bad friend.

"'uh! Er'u nn?"
In case Sharpay still needed a translation: "yeah, where've you been?"

"So you two are an actual thing now? That's so great! You're going to be so cute at homecoming together."
She had a bite of her half of the pita as she thought it over some more. Really, it was a pity Champloo wasn't in the running for homecoming king! Actual couples seemed to do well as running partners, from what she'd observed before her own junior prom.
"This is really good," she added, indicating their lunch.

Upon hearing the positive feedback about her lunch, Pinkie beamed. "Thank! I REALLY put my foot in it this time!"
Was that just a metaphor?
