[Hey, look, it's that guy who said he was going to be here. Touma's made a concession to the occasion by wearing a loose T-shirt rather than the usual shirt, vest, and tie, chinos rather than the usual slacks, as well as what appears to be sunglasses (they're actually his rarely seen but usual thin, silver, rounded rectangle frames with transition lenses). Holding a plate with veges and dip, he's currently eying the sushi a tad suspiciously...]

[ More mock pouting, before she can't help but giggle. ]

Aww, anyway, don't worry about it too much. The water thing's not for everyone, after all.

[He laughs too.] I do enjoy it; I just don't feel like swimming right now.

[A gesture at the food table.] Have you tried the sushi? [He doesn't quite trust non-Japanese made sushi...]

[ She giggles, a wide smile on her face. ]

And yeah, I've tried it. It's alright. Not the best, but it could be a lot worse.

[He takes a piece of sushi from the platter, has a bite, and chews.

[His face says it's okay, if underwhelming.]

[munch munch unimpressed munch] I kind of wish I knew how to make it myself. One of my cooks back home made excellent sushi and I've yet to find something that matches it here.

Yeah. Knowing how to make sushi would be pretty good. I'm kinda surprised that anyone even makes sushi here, considering that we're not in our world at all.

... Then again, I guess I shouldn't be that surprised. It's not like there aren't plenty of places that are on a coast.

[ Like, say, Balamb. Or Fisherman's Horizon. ]

[A smile and nod of agreement.] Not to mention the influence of off-worlders. There have been Japanese people from various worlds since before I arrived here.

It's oddly reassuring to find that there are some things different worlds have in common.

Yeah. I guess that's a good point too.

[ Though it's really kinda weird that people here would actually take things like that from other worlds. Considering the general attitude towards offworlders in general throughout the world. ]

And it really is. It makes everything seem... I don't know, more connected I guess. And I guess easier for all of us to talk to one another, even with all of the differences between us.

Good way of putting it. Though I think we might have an easier time of it than some worlds, given we already had experience with people from other worlds before we came here... [A fond smile over at Gaomon, who's off trying volleyball.]

I never thought I would see it with my own eyes! [Pinkie laughs.] Are you gonna play volleyball later? Or will you try some sushi?!

I'm still thinking about the sushi... [He's a bit judgmental about non-Japanese made sushi.] But I could go for some volleyball. [A smile.]

The sushi tastes pretty alright to me! [But then again, Pinkie eats anything...] I kind of ate a lot of it!

I'm surprised there's any left. [There's a half-grin to confirm it's just gently teasing, not serious, and he takes an empty plate for himself.] Is there a particular kind you'd recommend?

Yeah, I ate before I came! [Although that won't tide her over for long.]

THIS ONE! [She points to the tuna and mayo sushi] OH! This one too! [Smoked salmon!] That one's good too! [She points to one that's actually...a slice of bread rolled up with peanut butter and jelly.]

[Touma takes one of each of the sushi she points out, but hesitates at the PBJ roll.] That's... not sushi.

Of course it is! Look how it's all wrapped and ready to be eaten!
