Saving the Day [CLOSED]
Who: Marco and Grell
When: 2nd week of hell at the Island Closes to Heaven
Where: /points above
Rating: Probably PG13-R due to cursing, blood, and drama~
Summary: The rescuers do the rescuing.
Grell hadn't needed to flee this badly in a good, long while. But here she was, running away from some large beast. It was pretty powerful, and whatever damage Grell could have done to it wasn't enough.
Overall, it was very exhilarating.
Make no mistake that she was running away, but there was a plan up her sleeve, which was a bit tattered. Really, it was time for a new coat, although it would be hard to part from it. When the monster managed to catch up, mostly thanks to Grell stopping in her tracks with a broad grin on her face, it swung at her. Quickly, Grell flickers out of sight, making the creature pause after its strike, wondering where its prey went.
In a nearby tree, Grell was crouched on a branch above, watching it look about for her. She said nothing as she pondered her next move.

Still, patrolling the island was mostly similar at least. No bars for his little idiots to be holed away in, but then, the plant-life provided its own annoying coverage instead. There was still the basic port, and aside from some draw points, most everyone had enough sense not to go too deeply into the wild.
However, Marco's wife was not famous for having sense. More like the opposite. She had enough bloodlust that Marco's own levels of extreme bloodlust really looked tame in comparison sometimes. And she still hadn't come back yet. Fuck it.
Marco whistled a signal to one of the other SeeDs on patrol duty and flew deeper into the island looking for any signs of red. He avoided a chimera on the way over, after quickly making sure that no kids had been hurt by it and coasted along breezily. There were more than a dozen advantages to being a phoenix, but one of his favorite continued to be that most monsters had enough sense to keep the fuck away. Even cannibalism was usually preferable to monsters than trying to deal with a phoenix.
He caught sight of her red hair and ghosted to a branch just above her and folded his wings to look down at the Ochu running about. He carefully gripped the tree branch in his talon and peered his head down at her to give her a quizzical look. No kids were with her at least. So what was the hold up? Her coat was a little tattered and frayed, but if anything that would have just usually infuriated her, not sent her running. Then again, she'd been at this for far too long. How many kills was this for her? Crazy death reaper.
He didn't say anything, couldn't actually, not while still stuck as a phoenix, just gave her a look to ask if she was ready to go home yet or not.

A bright hue of blue caught her eye, and she was pretty sure that it would catch the attention of the creature below, so she did the only logical thing she could. Shoo him away with her hand.
"Shoo! SHOO! Off with you, now!" Grell said in a hushed voice. She lost her balance, however, and flailed her arms a bit before landing unceremoniously on the ground. Sure, she managed to break her fall by jabbing the tree with her weapon, but she still landed ungracefully.
Now that definitely caught the Ochu's attention. It roared and launched one of its tentacles at her as she made to get up from her fall. The DEATHSCYTHE was still lodged in the tree, unknown to Grell.

He jumped down from the tree, and used the force of the speed to slam the Ochu in the head just between the threatening poisonous tentacles with a haki-reinforced heel.
"If you're quite finished," Marco growled impatiently to his wife behind him, not even checking to see her either inevitable temper tantrum, or adoring loving eyes at his awesome rescue. Okay the latter was clearly just in Marco's head, because the man thought he was just that cool. In any case, rather than ruin the lovely mental image he had of the scene by turning around, he just savored that imaginary daydream.

Grell was definitely going to give him a piece of her mind in three...two--
"I HAD EVERTHING UNDER CONTROL!" Grell stood upright before yanking her weapon from the tree. "If only you hadn't come with all your glorious SPARKLES and distract me!" Damn sparkles.

Marco turned his head back at a sudden sound, and was torn between burning the flames brighter in case of sudden danger, or letting them simmer down lower to hide them. "You hear anything?"

"So says the one stealing my KILL!" She threw a dirty look at him, but it didn't last long as she, too, heard something rustle close by. "Oh good, more play toys~!" Grell stepped out from under that protective wing and walked off a bit to the side, surveying the area. "With so much foliage, I'm rather surprised we haven't been ambushed already."
The rustling continued, but Grell was having difficulty picking up on the direction it was coming from.

With her weapon, she cut down the overgrown brush with ease, but it was still annoying. Leaves getting into her hair, getting worked up because of the climate. "I want a bubble bath after this!"
The rustling was still continuing, but suddenly it came at a faster pace than before. Whatever was stalking them made itself known not long after in the form of an over large tentacle fast approaching them. Or rather toward Marco.
Without much warning, Grell ran back to Marco and pushed him out of the way. There wasn't much room for her to escape the path. The impact is pretty intense, knocking Grell into a tree trunk hard.

Marco's eyes flashed dangerously, and without warning he went completely murderous in a flash. He rolled her over beneath him so that he could take blows on his back with the blue flames and switched fully into hybrid mode to murder the attacker in cold blood as quickly as possible. "That wasn't necessary," he growled to his wife, more furious with himself for having been so distracted he even needed her to push him out of the way. His arms grew bigger with more and more flames growing and taking in the air around them to heat it up and give him some lift so that could use his vengeance attack and kick the ridiculous monster through several trees away. Oh yes, Marco was pissed.

She settled for trying to get up. It seemed like Grell was just grasping for air. Where the Hell was the ground?!

Grell went to get up, which was wobbly at best. She held onto his arm as she got more of her bearings.
