Summary: It's an excuse to pump dance music really really loudly, tbh.

The party was put together ridiculously fast, but everyone who decided to help went all out, and the place is pretty damn awesome. There are refreshments, strobe lights, a loudass music setup, and lots of space to dance. Come on in and have a blast! Garden will be sailing off in the morning, and then it's back to school. Time to get in that last hurrah!

Grell eye rolled at the question. "As if. I was simply bored and came to see how things faired."

"Ah~..." He understood completely and went to inspect it as well. "Not enough rum?" His wry smile gave away that he was joking. "Even if it was spiked, taking it away wouldn't solve the problem."

It's not any easier for her! Fionna works better with a bunkmate, especially when she was someone who had been so dedicated to Fionna passing her classes!

"Aw come on! He was pretty cool that one time, right?"

Fionna blew a raspberry, drinking the punch carefully.

"Enough that I know I'll probably get a headache if I drink too much again?"

Fionna raised an eyebrow. "If that's true, he's still not the one that's runnin the column. Still, I think I'll ask him about that anyway! Namur is a pain, but he's still pretty cool to listen to!"

OK, so maybe Fionna like to gossip a little herself sometimes.

Namur's eyebrows raised. "Oh yeah? Who's goin' t' warn the smolts 'bout the booze in the punch if y' do that?" he chuckled, elbowing her shoulder. But he was already moving back toward the dance floor, and the music system set up on the other side. "Come on, then. Got a whole slew a requests so I'll show y' how I been writin' 'em down."

Thaaat was an interesting style. Namur came back with more traditional breakdancing, finally feeling himself start to relax and just enjoy the music the way he was hoping he would. The last few weeks of school and then the SeeD exam had gotten him more wired up than he expected, and just when that got done Garden decided to dump itself off the side of a canyon? Mossballs to that shit. It was good to get the tenseness out of his system, take some time to hyperfocus on nothing but movement and sound.

Ace came to spike the punch only to realize someone else beat him too it. So instead he smiled and poured himself a big cup full, saving his own stash for later. He helped himself to the food and watched as couples danced the night away. He was keeping his eye out for the possibility of getting to dance with a lucky lady himself, but so far everyone had a partner.

He shrugged and just enjoyed the boozed punch and the food for now.

No playing. Right. The grin fell to his usual neutral expression, then he shrugged, rolling his head to one side. "Looks pretty damn good t' me, considerin' this all went up in jus' a couple a hours. Thatch an' Selphie make a good team, huh? Sheheh. Did y' end up helpin' 'em somewhere 'long the line?"

Oh ho! A target. Well then! Thatch stumbled his way over, reaching up to loosen his neckerchief only to realize it was tied to his head. That was right. He was lil' yellow' ridin'...somethin'. He walks in a more or less straight line toward Ace and draped an arm over his shoulder like a bad curtain.

"Acelet! My little Aclet," he crooned as he rubbed his knuckles against Ace's cheek. "Try th' veal-- I mean punch." He grinned. "I think I'mna have another glass."

Ace laughed outright at Thatch and shook his head. "Man you are totally lit. How much have you had?" He asked even as he helped the man fill his cup. It was nice to see Thatch relaxed, even if it was alcohol induced.

"Having fun?" He asked as he moved them so Thatch could sit down if he needed too and or not fall onto the buffet table thus wasting all that wonderful food.

There are no better words than that. He took her in his arms and swept her out onto the floor in a sort of modified waltz, matching the tempo of the music. Who would have thought that getting off of his lazy ass to study dancing at Trabia would have paid off.

"You dance divinely, sweetheart. Careful or you'll sweep me off my feet."

"Probably. But you'll have a hell of a time before then." He grinned. "Quick, Bunny-chan, drink as much as you can before someone notices."

"I jus had a little of this and a little of that. Nothin' so big." He sat and sat hard, missing the chair completely and burst out laughing.

"I've fallen and I can't get it up!" he said, laughing some more and clinging to Ace's leg to support himself so he wouldn't crack his head against the wall. That would hurt and then Namur would kill him for getting blood on it.

"Hey Ace, Acelet, Acerine, darling, how come your legs're always so smooth?"

"Tell you what, I'll make you a bet. Ten Gil says he's running the column. If you can get him to admit it, you win. If you can't, I win." And he held out his hand to shake on the deal.

Namur looked up after getting a new CD going and noticed his brother across the room, chowing down. Typical Ace. He wondered how long it would be before Ace faceplanted into the food, but there wasn't anyone around to make bets with. So instead he waved over the crowd, rocking out a little as he did.

Fionna had to admit, she loved watching Namur break out from his usual teacher persona and just shake it loose! More and more, she entertained the idea of her and him being pirates, going around and robbing rich stuffy people, than kicking back afterward to sing songs and have a good time! Of course, Fionna wasn't a thief, but that didn't make pirates less cool!

Time to slow it down, and then up tempo things? Fionna has the answer.

Ace knelt down to help steady his intoxicated friend and rolled his eyes. "Because they are." He said knowing any explanation would go right over his head. It was the same reason all the rest of him was smooth too. He simply didn't allow the hair to grow in the first place. Being a logia was sometimes a wonderful thing in that regard....and he liked being smooth. Hair was itchy and cumbersome and smelled terrible when burned.

"Want some help into the chair or are you okay on the floor?"

Ace waved back and made his way over to DJ Namur.

"You've outdone yourself, bro. This is an awesome party! Great music too." Ace grinned as he tried to talk loud enough over the tunes for Namur to hear.

"I'm okay as long as you're here." And as long as he could keep petting his leg because damn. Maybe Marco was the same. "You shave, don't you. Don't use my soap. It's good soap."

He rested his head on top of Ace's.

"Enjoyin' yourself, ma petite salmon?"

"Bunny chan?" Fionna snickered "And you're just trying to trick me into drinking this stuff fast!"

Well, she wouldn't fall for-wait, yes she would. GULP.

"Hehe, it takes like gas!"

Ace was dancing and having a great time when he noticed Fionna out of the corner of his eye. He realized it was the girl from before, when Garden was tumbling. She had stopped to see how she could help. He made his way over to her and smiled charmingly.

"Hey pretty lady, care to dance with me?"

[fionna_time]

Fionna frowned. "Dude, I know you're a pirate. He could just not say it because you told him to, and then you can split the Gil. I'm not gonna fall for your mind games!"

"You're far to pretty to be holding up the wall, miss. Would you care for some punch or perhaps a dance?" Ace asked with a wide grin and an inviting posture. He had seen the woman in the halls but had never formally introduced himself. He figured now was a good a time as any.

Oh hey, it was that guy without the-wAIT. She HAD met Ace before! She just forgot it when she was talking to Namur, not able to get out of her head the idea of a fish guy without a shirt. What did Namur expect when he said that Ace was his brother?!

"Sure!" She said, blushing slightly at the compliment. "You dance fast or slow?"

Hopefully the former. She was in a peppy mood!
