Summary: It's an excuse to pump dance music really really loudly, tbh.

The party was put together ridiculously fast, but everyone who decided to help went all out, and the place is pretty damn awesome. There are refreshments, strobe lights, a loudass music setup, and lots of space to dance. Come on in and have a blast! Garden will be sailing off in the morning, and then it's back to school. Time to get in that last hurrah!

"You, too, sweetpea. And he'll adore it. We'll have to find Marco to get it all settled, but first, Fionna my dear--" he pressed another paper cup into her hands.

"A toast, to new nakama!"

Fionna, giddy with drink and enthusiasm, seemed to raise herself higher, and gladly accepted the cup.

"Yes, a toast to...to...that thing you said!"

[thatched]

"Na ka ma," he said patiently. "It's what we are now. Crew. Family. Awesome bastards with awesome hair."

He slammed back his drink and got another. If they didn't empty the punch bowl between them it was going to be a wasted night.

"Nakama," Fionna repeated, glad she was not too drunk that she would fail to pronounce it right.

She grinned, and walked over with him. "So I guess this is our last thing before we have to do our school thing, right?"

[thatched]

"Our school thing?" He blinked at her. Balamb was full of school things so if she wanted him to respond she'd have to be a little more...precise.

"Well, I mean, YOU don't have to do what I do, but you're a teacher. You have to get all your lesson plans and stuff ready, right?"

He did have to do those.

He chuckled. Well he'd wanted to chuckle but it came out more of laugh than anything. He'd been drinking a little too much.

"I've been teaching this damn unit for so long I've got lesson plans stocked for the next three years." He snorted and refilled both their cups. "It's all I can do not to sic a couple of first timers on a t-rexaur and see what they do."

Fionna was with him on the chuckling and raised him a giggle. he was used to drinking, after all: she was not.

"No way, really? You are the best teacher ever! I mean, yeah, they're all big and stuff, but its an awesome way to tes their skills!"

She put an arm around him grinning. "I LIKE your style!"

"I like your style, too. It's why we work so well together." He ruffled her hair. "If you have time in between classes you can be my personal assistant. I'll pay you a bit. Maybe even teach you some subterfuge. How would you like that?"

[fionna_time]

"No way, really?!" Fionna was enthused, giving Thatch a big hug. "Thanks a lot! I even know what subterfuge means, so that's cool! Namur told me you knew how to teach it!"

"Yes way, really." He pats her head absently. Cute kid. "And subterfuge..." Did he pronounce that right? He takes a moment. Yeah. Yeah he did. "Is making people think you're not spying on 'em when you actually are."

[fionna_time]

"You think?" Fionna knew she was going to have some hard work there. Not even she was foolish enough to thin she had the barest hint of that in her personality or her appearance. "And you can do it?"

[thatched]

"I can do it, and you can help. It just takes a little patience and trusting me, Bunny-chan. I have your back no matter what and you have mine, aye? Together we'll help Marco conquer the world."

[fionna_time]

"You got it bro!" Fionna said, grinning. "Wait, what was that about Marco taking over the world?"

[thatched]

"Forget about it. You're drunk. We'll talk about it later." A song started up with a fast beat and he watched the young people noodle about the dance floor.

"That looks like your jam. Why not go indulge, peanut?"

"HEY, that doesn't mean-"

She trailed off when she heard the music, already shaking her hips. "OKseeyoulaterbyee!"

He chuckled as he watched her go off. She was going to be quite a lady some day and he hoped she stuck around long enough for him to see it. As for himself... it seemed about time for another cup of punch.
