Goodbye Dollet and Thanks for All the Fish! (backdated to Sept 28)

Summary: It's an excuse to pump dance music really really loudly, tbh.

The party was put together ridiculously fast, but everyone who decided to help went all out, and the place is pretty damn awesome. There are refreshments, strobe lights, a loudass music setup, and lots of space to dance. Come on in and have a blast! Garden will be sailing off in the morning, and then it's back to school. Time to get in that last hurrah!

"But but but..."

Well so much for that as, to onlooker's surprise, Fionna is being dragged to the dance floor, seemingly against her wishes.

And Sigyn pulls Fionna into a rather simple dance. She settles a hand in Fionna's and the other goes to the girl's hips. Fionna isn't gorgeous -- beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and no one can be more beautiful than Sigyn's own mother -- but she's lovely. She always looks so strong, confident, and heroic! A warrior! Her smiles are bright and her disposition is kind and inviting.

Fionna is beautiful.

And Sigyn wants Fionna to see that for herself.

She starts by pulling Fionna close, like she would dance with Gakupo.

"This is how to dance closely."

She had been break dancing, pop and locking, liquid dancing with Namur throughout the night. She had joked and laughed with Thatch, because if there were anyone that was a bro, he was the guy. Even wit Kori, there had been awkward but amused staggering with the way the two of them had attempted ball room dancing.

With Sigyn, as always, the feeling was vastly different. Maybe it was the way the girl carried herself, wit a grace she honestly thought she'd never seen any girl she knew come close to, or the way her smile somehow lit up the room. By herself Fionna wondered what she WAS: human, but not, somehow. Someone wise and beautiful and fierce at the same time.

The dance was CLOSE, and Fionna couldn't even attempt to hide the blush here. This wasn't ballroom dancing, this was what the kids were doing earlier, what they seemed to enjoy. She had questioned it earlier with Namur with jest, but now? She could see why they liked it, if it was with the right person.

"What do I do?" She asked, trying her best not to choke up or trip.

Sigyn smiles at Fionna's question, eyes closing and head turning down a little. She says softly, "You follow your partner's footsteps." And she moves one long leg out and then stretches it out to the side, foot touching down, and then she juts out her right hip and lightly tugs at Fionna's side and hand where her hands rest comfortably.

"Do as I do."

Fionna swallowed, her mouth dry at the idea of people laughing at her, but stills that, nodding as her teacher instructs her. She stared with the leg herself, stumbling slightly but at least getting the move down, making sure to move her hip at the right interval.

"Is this ok?"

Sigyn looks at the leg and then gives an approving nod. "Aye. Lovely, Warrior Fionna. I do not understand your hesitance. You are quite good." And she rotates her hips, almost sensuously, and pulls Fionna along.

"Do as I do." She takes Fionna up, to full height, and then swishes them around, feet sliding beneath them on the dance floor.

"Well," Fionna mumbled, "I'm usually, you know, not getting the slow dance. I just figure that I'd over think it or something."

The move caught Fionna slightly by surprise. Was this what she looked like sometimes? No, that couldn't be: there was no way she thought she could look as graceful as that. Namur or one of the guys would have said so.

"Ok," Fionna said, keeping pace again, catching the groove. She was even giving a few deft turns in herself!

"Dance is about the sway of your heart as well as the sway of one's feet. Both must be in perfect tune." What may sound cryptic is actually what Sigyn has learned from her own mother. Dancing is not just a one, two, three, and step! It is more about, quote, "the rhythm of your heart made clear in the rhythm of your feet". And Sigyn wants to share that rhythm with Fionna.

She nods as Fionna deftly turns with her and around, her hands careful at Fionna's sides. "Aye!" She can't help but cheer. "You are understanding."

It was weird, but Fionna was beginning to see now why Sigyn seemed so...so out there. She had this grace in her already, like, a sort of princess refinement, but she wouldn't remind you by saying it. She just acted that way. Even something like dancing, which might seem small to somebody else, Fionna could see mirrored her nature. It made dancing with her see a glimpse of something she wanted in herself.

"Tha-well, thank you!" Fionna said, grinning. "You should really teach this yourself! I can't see how you wouldn't get people excited to do it!"
