If there was a way to go back in time, Izaya may have been surprised by Albert’s younger self. Albert always donned the role of the good shepherd, a kind soul who was a leader amongst followers. In his youth, he was an avid believer of the Church and a defender of all men regardless of status. Born of common blood, the young friar soon became the star pupil of the real Roger Bacon. However, such a tale of grandeur always possess a tragic end and Albert’s tale was no different.

Keeping his attention on Izaya for a moment, Albert decided to fetch his pot of tea before it could boil over. “’Roger’ shall do for now.” He answered hastily before the boy could ask his question. As for Izaya’s inquiry about this realm, Albert’s reply wasn’t so curt. Recalling all he learned about the Garden and its activities, the old magician chose his words carefully as he returned from the next room.

“I cannot say I know much regarding the world itself, but I do know much about the Garden.”
