Star Crossed

Character(s): Grell (actress), Luki (popcorn eater?)

Location: in Grell's head. OH NOES!

Rating: Erm...maybe PG-13 for violence and...Grell.

Open/Closed/Finished: Closed

Summary: Grell's true self comes forth, and his Danse Macabre!

"You seem to have splashed it lavishly, haven't you, Jack the Ripper?

No, Grell Sutcliff."

He had not expected company outside their so called workplace, a building where their latest victim was. Oh, how she bled so beautifully! But this was not the time to relish in that. How had the boy and demon get so accurate? No matter. The skills of an actress shall save the day!

Grell stepped out with a look of utter surprise. He placed a hand in front of him, as if reaching out for a lifeline with his now bloody, gloved hands. He had confidence that his acting would be enough. "W-Wait! She was already dead when I arrived! I heard screams and came to help..."

The butler was too smart for that, having been there all evening and not seeing a soul come by the only entrance. He went on to speak of how this was the first time meeting someone like Grell in this world. As Sebastian continued to speak, there was a knot forming in his gut that alerted him that the demon must know he was not as he portrayed himself to be.

Time for the great reveal!

"Yes, you're right!" Grell untied his hair from its low ponytail. "I'm an exceptional actress, you know~." He took out a comb and brought back the color to his former mousy brown hair before placing on his glasses. "But you're not normal yourself."

There was so much excitement building up within Grell as he introduced himself, complete with a floating kiss for his Sebas. He could hardly believe their perfect plan had failed.

Their?

Oh yes. His dear, wicked partner, Madam Red. Ah, out she came from the depths of the shadows, like crimson blood seeping along the cracks in the cement. She was stunning! So full of rage that had been bottled over years, matching perfectly with her red attire, red hair, red eyes, red lips...From head to toe, perfection!

Grell dashed forward with his modified scythe, not surprised that the demon had blocked so well. He flipped backwards with such grace, red hair a whirlwind of beauty as he landed perfectly. He got shivers just from seeing how powerful and stoic Sebastian was! This battle would be the best yet! And that brat gave an order to dispose of Jack the Ripper. A challenge!

"Sebas~! I love all things red! I can't wait to carve you up and spread that rose color everywhere!"

In a flash, his scythe swung in every direction possible, forcing his Sebas to duck and dodge his blows. "Terrific, Sebas~! Just splendid!" Even in the light rain, the butler moved with such ease and superb reflexes. Grell slashed down when Sebastian was forced to a wall, damaging it instead of the demon who flipped out of the way and landing in a sliding crouch.

Too bad he wasn't aware of his teleportation abilities.

'Got you now, my darkness!' Instantly Grell was behind the other, ready to slash down. There was a wide grin of satisfaction when Sebastian barely stopped the spinning blades from penetrating his human body. The blade tore through the wall he had Sebastian pinned against, further widening his shark like grin in excitement. That red liquid was just so...close! 'How I yearn for your life blood!" Sebastian held the blade between the palms of his hands, although his strength matched that of Grell's.

"See what happens when you don't move fast enough~?" Grell chuckled lightly, green eyes locked so intently on where a bit of that black uniform was shredding at the shoulder. "A little pain here should be effective, won't it?"

And then it happened so quickly, even Grell was taken by surprise. One moment he had his delectable butler where he wanted him, followed by loud, panicked voices, and the next there was a gush of red. It was a happy distraction from having his prey escape, as he got what he wanted, but not how he wanted it.

Grell turned to the commotion behind him, seeing how Madam Red found herself in a sticky situation, unable to kill her nephew, and the demon, severely injured, behind her, ready to pounce, but didn't.

"How brave you are, Sebastian! Risking your arm to save the brat." That grin he once had faded instantly as his attention turned to Madam Red. "Finish him off this instant!"

And then he saw it.

Hesitation.

They had come so far! Cut up so many women!

He was disgusted. Disappointed. And most importantly, bored.

'Useless!' It was clear that she wasn't going to follow through, so she was no longer needed. The spinning blades of his scythe embedded themselves into her, square in the chest. A fountain of the deepest reds gushed forth, but its beauty was not reveled in by the reaper. No, he was upset!

"I'm so disappointed, Madam Red! I have no interest in you if you're just like all the other women!" Grell watched as her body floated in the air before, from the depths of her body, her cinematic reel began to play, playing out her life like a movie.

And once it was over, he would remove the red coat she wore and wear it proudly, as only a select few had the right to wear red. Her body was still warm, as was the coat he now wore.

"Goodbye, Madam Red."

But it wasn't over. There was still an order for the butler to fulfill. Grell stopped his retreat and hummed in curiosity, grinning wildly at the opportunity to dance in the moonlight.

Sebastian moved much like a feline with the blackest of fur! Grell's swings were merely to see how the other would move to get out of harms way. He could have sworn he saw muscles rippling beneath those clothes.

"Sebas, wherefore art thou, Sebas~!" A demon and a reaper reminded Grell much of the tragic tale of the star crossed lovers, never destined to be together yet their paths crossed at times. 'My Sebas looks so ravishing under the inconsistent moon! That sultry voice, that stubbornness, that wound!

And those ruby red eyes that look out only for souls, and nothing else.

I must have more!'

"I must have your babies!" The scythe revved itself up as they continued their dance beneath the misleading moonlight. Grell's swings were still wild, and it seemed like Sebastian was calm and collected while Grell let his emotions rule him. His greatest strength and weakness. His blade became stuck in the rooftop they were currently fighting atop, Grell looking up to his beloved opponent.

"If only morning never came, our love could continue on like this, but alas, it is not to be." Grell closed the distance between them, Sebastian leaning a foot atop the handle to his weapon and leaving him with little other place to go. "It must end here." With a headbutt, Grell used the distraction to take a final swing and let loose the blood he so yearned for from the very beginning, as well as released Sebastian's cinematic record.

"Show me your dramatic record, Sebas~!" The area filled with a white light as the record glowed brightly...
