We're still recovering from a war which took place one hundred years ago, and spanned nearly an entire decade... During the Dark War, the entire world was threatened by a powerful being known as the Black Beast. It reigned for ten years, and killed over half the world's population within that time.

It wasn't until humanity learned to utilize Armgagus - that is... a combination of magic and technology - that we were able to dispel the Beast. Ever since then, the Novus Orbis Librarium, otherwise known as the Library, has assumed control over the planet.

I work for the Library as a Fourth Division Lieutenant of the Praetorian Guard.
