She was very aware of how deathly silent he was, but was relieved to find he was calmer once they'd left the building. She turned to him, watching the last remains of the sunset strike his face.
"Or," she put in, "I can smoke and we can eat at the same time. Crazy, I know, try not to shit yourself." She pulled a cigarette out of her pocket, putting it between her lips and fishing for her lighter.
"Let's go grab some hot dogs from the cafeteria and eat outside."
It was warm out, late July, and at the altitude Garden cruised at, it wasn't as if they had mosquitos to worry about.
