And with that Nepeta logged off. For a moment she stared at the screen, feeling her nervoussness begin to return but she wasn' going to back out of this. Again and again she had had chances to tell Karkat how she felt, failed, and lost him. She wouldn't make the same mistake with Vriska. She withdrew from the computer, already dressed, and went to wait at the entrance.

Vriska tapped her nails against the keyboard, lips pursed in thought. Whatever this was... how bad could it be? It was Nepeta, of all people so she wasn't terribly worried. If she was honest with herself the idea of the cat troll putting up a surprise for her was a little exciting. She had grown attached to the olive colored troll in the past year and it was hard to hide it now.

Not that she really felt the need to anymore.

After getting dressed in something a little nicer than shorts and a tank top she waltzed herself over to the entrance. Spotting her, she approaches with hands in the pockets of her dress.

"Leijon."

Nepeta was dressed in a simple black dress with black slippers, but she had pulled her hair up in a messy bun. She grinned when she saw Vriska.

"You looked purrty! Hee, thanks fur coming. Reading fur the surpurrise?" Nepeta had found a rather nice restaurant in town that she thought would cater to both of their tastes. It was a little on the upper end, but she had been saving for quite a while now. It had taken a bit, what with her having to make certain that she stayed on top of her medical bill but she knew it would be worth it.

Vriska shrugged, but her lips were curved up into a lazy smile. "Sure. I doubt you'll disappoint me."

When Nepeta started walking Vriska was beside her, hands still in pockets. "So what's this all about?"

Nepeta gave a casual shrug and held out an arm. She didn't want to seem too obvious just yet what she was planning. While they had spent a lot of time together they had never really been out somewhere in town. There had been plans back during the previous graduation ball but Vriska had been much to light headed after Kanaya fed on her.

"I found a really nice place in town. A restaurant that sells a lot of foods furom difurent continents. I thought since you've helped me out befur, especially when finding new clothes that I owed ya. Besides I thought it'd be fun to get out--we're cooped up there so often I'm surpurised we're not dead."

"I wouldn't let it go that far. Besides, it hasn't been that boring lately..." She unsheathed her hands to hang at her sides as they walked, glancing casually to Nepeta every so often.

"You can afford this right? I don't want to get halfway into my meal only to figure out you can't cover us both!"

"No purromises! You know how much of a spender I am, after all." Which is essentially not one at all. Nepeta couldn't even remember the last time she had gone into town to buy something. The only thing she spent her money on was her medicine.

She extended an arm towards Vriska.

"It'll be fine, don't worry. I wouldn't have asked you out if I wouldn't be able to cover it and more!"

Without mulling it over she took her extended arm, pocketing her other hand away. "Alright, I'll trust you."

She considered asking her what the reason behind all of this was, but she stayed her tongue. Nepeta would tell her eventually (and if she didn't before Vriska's patience wore out she would just bother her for the answer either way).

They set out at a sedate pace. It was a nice, windy day. Warm, but the sun was not so harsh as to hurt their more sensitive troll skin. Nepeta kept things simple at first, just asking Vriska about her recent missions, what she had done to test the recent SeeD graduates, maybe slipping in a comment or two about Kanaya.

When they arrived, the restaurant in question was a rather small one, rather unnoticeable. From the outside it could almost be mistaken for a regular house if not for the tiny sign that read Rita's in a loopy cursive.

"Here it is! I found this place by chance ages ago and it was really nice." She tugged Vriska inside where it was wholly different. It wasn't like the Garden, or most other restaurants that were full of white walls and high ceilings. Instead this one looked almost like a tavern, simple and full of wooden tables. Paintings decorated the walls and soft music played in the background. They waited till a waitress came and took them to a table, handing them menus and taking their drinks.

Vriska took in the interior of the restrurant. It was pretty okay. Certainly something Nepeta could afford at least which put her at ease. ... Not that she really cared either way but at least that meant she really wouldn't have to pick up the check at the end of the dinner.

"Not bad." She picked up her napkin and started to fold it. "So, what's the occasion?"
A look of uncertainty flickered across her face. Should she really just go ahead and say it now? She had forgotten all her planning in the midst of all this, and she had never really had anything definite when she had asked Vriska to join her. Part of her wanted to just keep putting it off, but see how well that had worked for her where Karkat was concerned.

She looked at her hands for a moment, deliberating, before taking a breath in.

"Well. There's something pretty important I wanted to talk to you about."
She stopped messing with the napkin to give her a curious look.

"Oh yeah? Well go on, shoot." She leaned back in her chair as she waited for the other to speak her mind.

She feels her heart beginning to pick up pace and she licks her lips nervously. How to say this, make the words come out so that they fully expressed what she was feeling? The words always seemed to come out fairly well when she was giving someone advice, when it came to her own feelings she found herself incapable of speech.

She fidgeted in her seat.

"Since coming here...you've been really, really helpful. Great--I mean. It's hard to imagine that I would have gotten this far if I didn't have you there to support me." In truth, Nepeta didn't think she would have. There had been so many times when she just felt continuing on hadn't been worth it but something about Vriska constantly pushing her--always waking her up in the morning, forcing her to go to her classes, listening even if she complained---she still actually listened.

"To be purrfectly honest I use to be pretty scared by you...but after getting to know you I'm most definitely not scared and in fact. Well. I really, really like you."

Her mouth became dry.

"I guess....I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm pale for you."
She sat there and watched Nepeta as she spoke, her own hands in her lap. It was hard to resist the urge to fidget with the napkin (still that temptation to destroy everything she touched- but she was getting better at controlling it. Just a little).

... But the confession throws her off. Was she expecting this? Of course if she really considered it the idea that pale feelings were being strewn about wasn't too far-fetched. How long had they been tolerating each other now? Almost half a sweep and now...

Well it was hard for Vriska to now deny the other troll had grown on her quite a bit during their time together. She couldn't lie to herself now.

So she moves to pick up the napkin again, back to fidgeting. "Oh yeah?" Act casual, Serket... "I guess that does warrant a nice dinner. Should I order a bottle of wine to celebrate?"

Nepeta stared at her, for a moment confused but then...this couldn't be anything other than acceptance, right? A smile spread across her face from cheek to cheek and her eyes crinkled in happiness. "I think you are right!"

She smirked, napkin near ruins in her lap. Was she nervous? Why the fuck would she be nervous? Whoever thought that is an idiot.

"I guess it was about time we settled into something, right? It's only been forever since we've been stuck here together." So she made it sound a little more dramatic than she meant to, whatever.

"And you can bet that you're gonna be stuck with me fur a very, very long time!?" Nepeta could barely believe this. She had been so certain that Vriska was going to reject her--it was a fear and certainty she had become accustomed to so much with Karkat that it had gotten to the point that she honestly couldn't ever see any future partners recirprocating her feelings. She took Vriska's hands into both of hers and smiled big and wide.

"To a long and flourishing moirallegiance?"

If there was one thing Vriska was good at, it was surprising people. Sometimes it was a good thing.

She flashed her a large smile and gripped her hands back. "To a long and flourishing moirallegiance!"
