(no subject)
Character(s): Tobias and Espio
Location: Toby's room
Rating: PG-13, due to talk about THINGS.
Open/Closed/Finished: Closed
Summary: Overprotective lizard tries not to be overprotective. Or something.
Espio's words to Tobias, on hearing that he was perfectly willing to go on that mission, had been "look after everyone." And, while there was truth behind that sentiment - he had a great deal more faith in Toby's ability to cope than many of the other cadets - it didn't really change the fact he worried.
He'd tried not to show that he was worried - tried being the key word there. Toby had made his own mind up, and Espio wasn't about to tell him he shouldn't do what his mind was set on. That would be stupid. But ever since finding out, Espio had just been even more restless, pacing around the Garden, lost in thought, ignoring pretty much everyone.
Eventually, he'd wound up in Toby's room. This surprised him - apparently, his body had been running on autopilot, considering he hadn't set out to come here.
It was empty. No sign of Tobias, just all of his things... including, Espio noticed, a bunch of Christmas things Toby hadn't bothered to get rid of. Espio wondered for a moment if it was worth waiting for and talking to him again... maybe, he decided. But really, he just felt... drained. It had been a pretty stressful day.
Toby wouldn't mind if he took a nap on his bed, surely?
