"You shut up," Thatch said, dropping a clump of lavender bubbles on Marco's head.
"If it's grayer it's only because you pop up out of nowhere after five years and I get to hear your whole life story in five seconds."
Though he said it jovially enough because he really didn't mind all that much...and it was good to feel Marco's warm weight again and the shifting fire of his hair. He pet his head absently, curving a hand down the length of his neck and scritching the base of it.
"It's good, though. I'm glad you've found a family here. Must have been pretty hard with no one to look after, eh? But you kept it together." Better than Thatch had, in fact. But this was really a surprise to no one.
