Summary: It's an excuse to pump dance music really really loudly, tbh.

The party was put together ridiculously fast, but everyone who decided to help went all out, and the place is pretty damn awesome. There are refreshments, strobe lights, a loudass music setup, and lots of space to dance. Come on in and have a blast! Garden will be sailing off in the morning, and then it's back to school. Time to get in that last hurrah!

"Not the Garden it'uz metphorpical." He flopped on the couch hard and wrapped his arms around Ace's waist, rubbing his head against his warm side. "Glad your happy. Like to see you laugh. Having a good time. Always home with you. Sorry I'm sucha jerk."

He wants to keep him with them forever. To pin him in time. Doesn't even want him to die of old age but be young forever.

"I'mna find a way to shtop time."

She shook her head. "Nah, I'm a hero where I'm from, gotta fight monsters all the time!"

She swallowed quickly, nodding her head.

"I'm good! I haven't seen you since we had classes together! I wish we could have hung out more! What do your classes look like this trimester?"

"I know! It's been far too long. We are going to have to fix that. Well, I'm finishing up my mandatory courses to become a SeeD then I'm taking more art classes that I never would have gotten to take back home. Oh and rock climbing and item crafting."

"What about you? How do your classes look?"

"Yeah, let's! I might have a lot of work, but I do try to hit the pool sometimes! We could meet there! No way, you're taking Item Crafting too? So am I! You'll like rock climbing, its pretty boss!"

She smiled. "Like, three types of weapon classes, something horrible called Physics, Biology, Home Eco, ball room dancing...OH! And I take art and music appreciation too!"

"We could. I do like swimming. You are?!" She grins brightly. "When are you taking it?! Maybe we are in the same class!"

"I'm taking Physics too. I tried to avoid as long as I could. I already took the others and the art and music appreciation."

"Awesome! And yeah, I'm taking it with Slughorn today! Tuesdays and Thursdays, last class!"

She made a face. "Yeah, because its all mathy and I was kinda crap with it first semester. I was lucky my roommate helped, you know?"

"That's an awful lot a dislikin' someone," he mused. "What'd she do t' y'?"

Grell always needed fun. She'd probably needed more of it soon. There is a playful grin at the nip to her fingers.

"I think I would doubt you ability to dance with ME to anything."

Grell just shrugged. "Not very much. Just being herself was enough."

Well, he was done being subtle.

"How about just one dance, then? You'll be back to the punch bowl in no time, and no one can say you didn't try to have fun."

Ace patted that still slightly damp pom and then started carding his fingers through Thatch's hair. "You're a mess baby. Thank you can stand up long enough to shower and get this sticky crap off of you?" he asked with a teasing lilt.

"And you're not a jerk sweetheart, if anything I am. Why would you want to stop time?"

"A hero you say? Well you're a cute hero if ever there was one." Ace said with a wide smile, handing her a cup of punch and taking one for himself.

"Well miss Fionna, here's to new friendships!" Ace said raising his glass in salute to her before taking a long sip. Wow...more alcohol then punch...someone must have added more booze to it.

She managed to nudge at least a dry little laugh out of him. It was still mostly baiting, and it was obvious enough that even he could tell, but he couldn't deny this was an easier kind of prank to get behind. Hell, he'd be doing the other minors in the room a favour.

"Just undoing it? You've got no ambition." Off he went, towards the punch bowl. "Let's see..."

"Sheheheh, when pirates hang it's usually from the gallows," he said. He stooped down and put his hands on both sides of her hips. "Jump, Smolt. Yer too damn short."

If she complies, he'll guide her up into a sitting position on one of his broad shoulders, then stand so he's mostly face to face with Thatch again.

"A'ight, what did y' think?"

"Music, of course," Rainbow said with a grin, winging her way towards the dance floor. "I'll give you pointers on ballroom later! For now we just have some fun!"

"Naw, I just know that if I suggested something too wild, you'd lecture me for half an hour about how alchemy couldn't do that!" Good mood restored, Rainbow trotted after him. "And only one of us would find that fun."

Hey, she wasn't here to ruin anyone's fun unless said fun looked to engulf the city in fire and chaos! (And it ought to say something that she believed that could totally happen.) She shrugged. "Thrashing around on a dance floor just isn't my thing, any more than nerding out about gunblades is most other people's thing."

"Sure they will, they'll say if I was really trying I'd have had two," she said wryly. "I'll do it, but it isn't my thing... don't be surprised if I suck at it."

"Oh... I have the class on Monday, Wednesday, Friday."

"When are you taking Physics?" She hated anything with math with a passion. Hence why she had waited as long as possible to take this class.

They could! But Namur had to change out the music, and there were some requests for slow dances. Dancing out in the ocean with another fishwoman or mermaid, where everyone expected everyone else to have a dorsal fin, or multiple long tentacles, or any number of other odd anatomical quirks was one thing, but Namur had found dancing among humans when they weren't attentively giving him space could prove... harmful.

"Take a rest, Smolt," he told her. "Or find yerself a human t' dance with the next couple a rounds. Got t' give the miltbrains a chance t' get their hands all over the maids for a few minutes."

Namur returned the shrug with one of his own. "Oh well. Can't get 'long with everybody I guess. Good t' see y' though. Got any music y' want played?"

Fionna giggled, reddening a little. "Aw, thanks! You're not so bad looking yourself guy!"

"Ok, to new friendships!" She cheered, taking a long drink, then hiccuping. "O-oh yeah!"

"Guh, sounds pretty severe," Fionna said, shaking her head. "And I'm not short, you're just too tall!"

Actually, she was fairly tall for her age, although she does jump onto his shoulder.

"I didn't think it was you, duh!"
