Goodbye Dollet and Thanks for All the Fish! (backdated to Sept 28)

Summary: It's an excuse to pump dance music really really loudly, tbh.

The party was put together ridiculously fast, but everyone who decided to help went all out, and the place is pretty damn awesome. There are refreshments, strobe lights, a loudass music setup, and lots of space to dance. Come on in and have a blast! Garden will be sailing off in the morning, and then it's back to school. Time to get in that last hurrah!

"More or less. We have people." He grinned mysteriously and took a carrot, munching at it as he leaned against the table. "Tried the punch yet? It's spiked to hell but not bad."

"No way!" Fionna grinned, and was now moving to the spiked punch. The headache from last time had apparently not impressed itself on Fionna enough.

"This is a fun party! After, you know, us gettin' all tilted, this came just in time!"

"Well Nam-chan does have the best timing when he isn't busy having the worst." Seeing her move toward the punch, he straightened and ladled some out for her, offering her the paper cup with an elegant bow.

"For you, sweet lady."

"Oh, hey, thanks!" Fionna said, giving him an awkward bow. Prince Gumball was so better at doing that and not tripping, like Fionna almost did.

"Wait, the worse? What's going on with him lately?"

She didn't have to bow back, but it was adorable that she did. What are you, Fionna? Really? And why did he think that she and Haruta would get along famously? God help them all.

"Nothing that I'm aware of," he said, pouring himself a cup and sipping it. "Just making a joke." It would take too long to explain how Namur said things without thinking at the worst times--and it was too personal besides. Even for Fionna.

"You seem to be close to our be-gilled friend."

"Oh, ok," she said, shrugging. Hey, eve she could see Namur was teacher when he could be, person when people weren't watching. But heck, even she knew there were things going on she would rather tell family about, like Cake.

Too bad no one from her world was here for that.

"Yeah, well, I see him enough!" She laughed. "Every time I do he does some junk to get me riled up! But I wanna make sure he's doing ok too. Can't just ask him at school, even though I'll be seeing him there pretty soon."

"Get you riled up, eh?" He stowed the joke that would have gotten him at best, an eye roll, at worst, a punch across the room. Instead he hides his smile behind a paper cup and regards her. "How so."

Though he nods at her words and can't help but smile.

"Yep. Our little Namu-mu is moving up in the world." Oh wait...he probably shouldn't have used that nicnkame in front of her. "He'll probably turn you into a pretzel if you call him that, though. You date one Orca..." He shrugged.

"Because he's a pain in the neck, taking my hat and making me feel like a dope!"

Ok, the hat was legitimate, but it was really talking to Namur that made Fionna feel that way and she knew it. Granted, Namur flaunted his knowledge but he still was nice about it. In a way, when she thought about it? It was like having a kinda posse around, even if he was a teacher!

"Aw man, for serious? And here I wanted something to drive him nuts."

Hint hint.

"Maybe he's just fond of you." Namur did tend to gravitate toward the energetic types and as far as he'd seen that fit Fionna perfectly. At least in the sense of a younger sister. He grinned at her hinting though, sipping his punch.

"But you'll have to find out something like that on your own." He knew a lot of things she could do, but nakama stood up for nakama no matter how great the temptation was to do otherwise.

"Fond of messing with me by giving my dictionaries and stuff," she said, shaking her head. There might be some truth to what Thatch was saying, but wouldn't that be weird? All he did he was tease her most of the time.

Woo, head rush.

"You know I will! Say, how much did you spike the punch anyway?"

"A dictionary? That cad!" Thatch said, putting a hand to his face and then grinning at Fionna's remark, sipping from his own cup innocently.

"How much do you think?"

Fionna blew a raspberry, drinking the punch carefully.

"Enough that I know I'll probably get a headache if I drink too much again?"

"Probably. But you'll have a hell of a time before then." He grinned. "Quick, Bunny-chan, drink as much as you can before someone notices."

"Bunny chan?" Fionna snickered "And you're just trying to trick me into drinking this stuff fast!"

Well, she wouldn't fall for-wait, yes she would. GULP.

"Hehe, it takes like gas!"

"Gas?" He takes a sip himself and makes a face. "You're right. Needs more." And he dumps the rest of the bottle in and refills her cup.

"Try it now, Bunny-chan." No he won't stop calling her that, unless she asks him to. But it's really too cute to pass up.

She raised an eyebrow. "Wait, so won't it taste MORE like gas if you do that, not less?"

GULP.

"Ah, hehehe! Dude, you are SO gonna get in trouble from that serious lookin lady over there!"

"I outrank her." Probably. "Anyway, consider this a form of education, my dear dear Fionna. What not to do. Or rather, what you can get away with."

He took another sip himself. It could probably peel paint off a hull. Obviously good stuff.

"No way!" GULP. "I guess I can kinda see that, cuz she's sorta like, glaring a hole through people, yanno?"

Starting to take affect, just a little bit. "Man, I already know iz bad to drink t'is. Doesn't mean I'm not gonna! I live on the Wiiiild side!"

As if on cue, her hat flew off revealing quite the long flowing tresses.

That hair...! He may be a little tipsy. Okay, probably very tipsy at this point, but there is no denying that she has good hair and a lot of it. Probably the best he's seen in this place. A nice color, too. He wonders what she uses on it or if it just comes out naturally that way.

In either case, it was too good of an opportunity to miss. He set the cup aside and put his hands on her shoulders.

"Fionna. The time stream may take you away in an instant, but as long as you're here... How would you like to be a Blue Phoenix pirate under the four-- First division?"

Fionna giggled. She was pretty tipsy too, but people always gave her looks when her hair came down, like they never saw the stuff before! Well ok, just a tuft of it usually was what was seen, but still!

The hands thing was unexpected, but she was drunk, so she didn't body slam him as per usual reflex.

"Man, I hope not, I like this place! Drink, learning how to fight and...really?" Ok, she was genuinely touched, tipsy or not. "What's the deal with the four first division?"

"First difisi...division. It means we fight together, die together if we have to and follow our captain without question."

Well he was allowed to question because he had seniority and Marco was pretty damn questionable sometimes.

"Ah haha, you can barely s-say it!" Fionna snickered, giggling. "No questioning the captain? At all? He's gotta have a lot of know how then!"

She grinned. "But I think you know me by now to know my answer!"

"I have no idea actually!" He laughed, because for some reason that was really funny. "But as we have the best parties and no one wants to miss out on that, I'm going to take that as a yes. Besides which, you be able to bother Nam-chan whenever you want." Which, as far as Thatch was concerned, was a bonus.

"Aw come on, yes!" Fionna said, grinning. "Pirates are awesome! It's not just parties, I mean, you guys are smart and cool and saavy and everything! Yes!"

She chuckled, shaking her head. "Oh, he'll love that!"

"You, too, sweetpea. And he'll adore it. We'll have to find Marco to get it all settled, but first, Fionna my dear--" he pressed another paper cup into her hands.

"A toast, to new nakama!"
