Summary: Kory and Fionna watch movies


Well, the prom was over so as they had arranged, it was time to watch movies. Kory had gone and found some possible movies for them to watch. Now that she had done that, she was back at her room, having changed out of the prom dress and into something more comfortable. She was busy making sure everything was perfect.

Now she just had to wait for Fionna to get here.

“That is true. You are going to have to talk to him at some point.”

Then it is almost like a light bulb goes off. “Yes! We were going to watch a movie! I grabbed a few of them. I think these options would work.”

She scrambled up to grab the movie options that she had found and brought them back over for Fionna to look at.

[So what did she have for Fionna as titles?]

Fionna sat down, glad to at least be comfortable now. Dresses were good and all, but being in this was much better, more cozy.

"What did you have? Anything with fighting?"

Kory was the same. She liked dressing up, but at the same time she also preferred not having to dress up. Wearing her comfy clothes was much nicer.

"Yes, there are a few."

There were a couple of ninja-type flicks. There was also one about a princess who was fighting and protecting her kingdom and finding her prince.

"What do you think?"

Fionna gave her a curious look.

"Dude, you now that I'm gonna pick the princess one! Normally I'm all for ninjas and punching, but I kinda wanna see something cute, like this!"

Kory couldn’t help a grin.

“How did I know you would like that one."

It really was just a feeling that she had had. Fionna seemed like the type to like that kind of movie... and Kory did too.

"Aw, you know me by now Kory," Fionna said, winking. "You're, like, my closest female friend here!"

With that, she did snuggle into the couch. Namur was temporarily forgotten: it was a night to just have fun and be silly, now.

“Aww, that’s so sweet. You are mine too!”

And then Kory will put on the movie and they can watch to their hearts’ content.

Fionna watched the movie eagerly, curled up next to Kory. This was relaxing, and the movie, slow at first, picked up after twenty minutes and Fionna was hooked.

"Wow, the effects are sweet!" She commented.

Kory smiled, watching the movie as well. This was nice, two friends watching a movie together. What could be better really?

"They are. This is a really good movie."

"Hey Kory," Fionna asked, "you ever LIKE anybody like that back home, that you'd go and fight them like this girl here?"

She thought about that for a long moment before she spoke.

"There were a few. There was Franklin. I loved him a lot and he didn’t care that I was from a different world. He was killed and I couldn’t save him.

And then there was Dick. He never seemed to be able to return any feelings I had for him but two people who have been here from my future have said we start dating."

Fionna was actually pretty floored by what Kory told her. She had a lover that died, and then one she was getting with in the future? That was hard to process from a girl who was only hoping for one guy.

"You seem pretty, uh, relaxed about it? I dunno how to describe it. So I guess you never wanted to date anyone here?"

"I've had time to think about both. It was hard when I first got here... for both. I was still getting over his death and Dick... he is my friend.

No, I haven't dated anyone here. I haven't really thought about it."

[fionna_time]

Fionna nodded, her head resting against her arm. So Kory had just been here, by herself? Somehow that didn't seem fair to her. Getting over somebody's death and then a future hookup.

"That's cool. I dunno if there's too many guys here for the taking anyway."

She’d definitely needed to talk to someone about that, at least the fact that she had lost Franklin so soon before she had arrived here. For the most part, she’d been alone for people that she actually knew.

“That’s true too. A lot of them have people either here or that they were with back home.”

"Yeah," Fionna said, pulling her legs to her chest, thinking a moment.

"What was Franklin like?"

Kory paused at that, thinking.

"Franklin... he was a very sweet guy. At least I thought he was. He looked after me. He didn't care that I wasn't human. We spent a lot of time together. I was just bringing my friends to meet him the night he was killed."

Fionna was sympathetic. Poor Kory. What was that like, finding a guy you cared about and cared about you, only to have him just...get taken out?

"I've had dreams of people I care about dying," Fionna said softly. "Can't imagine what its like to have it actually happen."

"I've had dreams about that?" Kory was quiet a moment, having paused the movie so they didn't miss anything. "It's tough... but it is one of things that you learn to deal with."

She gave her a small smile. Her smile was a little sad, but she couldn't do anything about it anymore. He was gone.

"Yeah, but at least you don't have to do it alone, right?" She took the girl's hand, smiling. "I mean, you can if you want, but we can talk about this stuff whenever you want, if it helps. I wanna help you out however I can!"

She returned the smile. "At least, you know, so your smile can reach your eyes."

Kory smiled again, gently squeezing Fionna's hand. "Thank you. It is definitely nice to know that I have such friends who will stand by me."

"Hey, its no big deal! You're my friend, and meeting you's made me feel ten times better abut a lot of stuff!"

Like today.

"Oh, cool! Looks like they're getting attacked!" Fionna made a punching motion in the air, clearly excited.

“And talking with you has made me feel better about things as well.”

Kory’s attention turned back to the movie and she grinned. “I think this was a good movie.”

Fionna nodded, and lay her head on Kory's shoulder, nodding.

"Hey, wanna make some popcorn after, stay up and just talk about more junk?"

Kory glanced over at her and nodded.

"Yes! Let's do that. A traditional 'sleep over'!"

She was excited. She had such a good friend with her here.
