Summary: Noel and Vanille have a lunch date and get some of that fresh sea air.

Vanille was well equipped for today's adventure. After a long morning of classes, she was more than hungry, and her lunch tray showed it well. A bun, fruit, juice carton, something the lunch lady labeled as a 'Caesar' salad, and cookies for a dessert. Luckily, she had made it early enough to catch the line before it extended into the hall. So it was assumed it would be a while before her comrade would emerge from the hungry masses to join her.

This put Vanille in a very compromising position.... Her stomach growled with the fury of three trexaurs, it would be terribly rude to begin eating without the lovely Noel. But the food, it just sat there in her lap, taunting her. There was no doubt that a few confused cadets passed by wondering why a girl was just sitting there whining to her food. It could have been a few minutes, it could have been fifteen, but it felt like hours. Hours of just an eye seducing, delicious array of treats.

She could hear Fang's taunting voice echoing about her head, urging her to just take a bite. The redhead took a hard swallow, cautiously picking up one fork and jabbing it at one of those juicy looking grapes. She missed, the rogue grape escaped from her tray, bouncing across the lobby before making tiny little -PLOOP!- into the fountain. A small whine slipped from Vanille's lips as she shoved her tray aside and hurried across the walkway to retrieve the runaway food. Fork in hand as if it were a harpoon or a spear, the girl cautiously leaned over the edge of the fountain, ready to strike.

And of course, it was only natural that Noel would arrive just precisely enough to catch Vanille in the act of venturing over the fountain to retrieve her runaway grape. From a good distance, she stared, less out of judgment but more in confusion as to what in the world her fellow cadet had gotten herself into that would solicit her to do so.

Her tray was less than stellar in comparison to Vanille's, looking more like she had merely picked out a batch of random food items just out of convention and not because she was even half as hungry as her friend over there. Eventually, she decided to embark next to Vanille, placing her tray on the the table as she passed it. She leaned over the fountain beside her, offering her an absent-minded smile. "D-Do you need some help...?"

Sorry for the late reply! :(

As Vanille retracted herself from the fountain, so did Noel, stifling a giggle towards her new friend's strange mannerisms. "Don't be... I made it here okay. And I think my ankle's finally good to go." She mustered up a nervous smile, glancing back towards their table. "S-So, do you wanna..." Sit down and eat?

Not in as much of a hurry - especially in being delicate with her sprained ankle - Noel followed suit, retrieving her tray to walk with it down the hall in pursuit of Vanille. Almost immediately as they arrived before it, a look of astonishment crossed Noel's face as she caught a look at the sea. "It's so... pretty..."

It took a moment or two before Noel was prompted to follow suit - mostly because she was caught in a daze admiring the sea. Soon enough, though, she positioned herself by the railing next to Vanille, complete with tray in hand. "I've been holding up..." she started, smiling a little in reminiscence of her day's at the Academy. "I was lucky to develop good study habits before ending up here..."

"T-That's a good way of looking at it..." she answered, smiling as she began to prod at her own food, though not as eagerly as Vanille. "Never too late. If you ever need any help, academically, I could... offer to be of some assistance." In contrast to Vanille, Noel's life was entirely academics for a time.

Finally off hiatus, sooo sorry for the lateness on this D:

Noel giggled in response, though it was of the reluctant sort as she had doubts about what she'd just gotten herself into by offering. Not because she didn't like Vanille, but her very nature compelled her to second-guess at times. "O-Of course. When you're stuck with something, you know who to call..."
