Summary: Backdated to forever! The first meeting between roommates and... whatever is to come!

Packing wasn't difficult, she had nothing much to pack in the first place -- or maybe it was because she was far too used to packing, far too used to moving. She had few belongings here too, but that was because she had never expected to be sent to another world while in the midst of fighting Nyx. Even so, some of the things she had never brought to Tartarus found their way here... Knowing it best not to look a gift horse in the mouth, Minako thought not to ask how.

She stood outside the dorm room for a few seconds, collecting herself. Smiling, Minako entered and called out, "Hello!" while wondering if her roommate was in.

While Katara had originally been assigned to a dorm with a roommate, she actually had yet to ever meet the girl who supposedly shared the same living area. Days, weeks, then months passed-- and still, no signs of the "Yuffie" girl.

It had been an odd transition to have so much room to herself. During her journey with the others, they had always had to live cramped together in closed quarters or the wilderness; so accustomed to her previous living conditions that Katara had begun to feel a bit lonely having both her bedroom and the living area all to herself. So when she received the note attached to her dorm informing that a new roommate would soon move in, Katara was more than excited.

The waterbender had been in her bedroom when she heard the door outside slide open and a voice call out. Lighting up, she immediately hopped off the bed to enter the common area, smiling brightly when her eyes fell on the girl.

"Hi!" She greeted enthusiastically. "I'm Katara, it's nice to meet you!"

Pleasantly surprised by the greeting, Minako returned both the smile and enthusiasm. "I'm Minako," she said, wondering if she should free a hand to stretch out for a shake. "It's nice to meet you, Katara!"

Pointing to the other bedroom, Minako asked, "That's mine, right?" She planted the end of of wrapped naginata on the floor to adjust her grip on it, unsure if revealing her weapon would scare her roommate away -- even if this was a school that taught its students how to fight.

It had taken a while for Katara to grow accustomed to the greetings in this new world, but it had been long enough for her to recognize the outstretch hand. Katara reached out to give Minako a friendly shake of the hand, smiling brightly.

"Yeah, that's the one!" The nodded to confirm Minako's question. Realizing that she might have come off a bit too enthusiastic, Katara let out a small laugh, looking a bit sheepish. "Sorry if I come off as too excited, I just haven't had a roommate since I've arrived."

"Not at all," she replied. "It's my first time with a roommate too! The dorms back--" Home? In school? "--in my world, where I stayed, only had single rooms." Though Aigis had wanted to room with her, Yukari had put her foot down. Just as well, the dorms back in Iwatodai had not been as big as these rooms.

"You sound like you've been here a while, Katara," Minako said as she started a slow walk to her room so she could finally put her things down. "Have you?"

Katara wasn't sure whether to follow Minako to her door, so Katara simply stood in the common area, leaning back on the table situated to the side of the room.

She gave a small nod in response to Minako's question, but realizing that the other girl probably couldn't see, she vocalized her answer. "I've been here about... wow, three months already. I didn't realize so much time has gone by! But what about you? Did you just arrive, or have you been here for a while?"

"Ah, it's been--"

Minako stopped as she recalled the dates and subtracted them inside her mind. "About two weeks." A little lesser than that, but time flew so quickly and it did feel like two weeks with all the surprises this place held for her. Discovering the existence of a parallel world, meeting friends who didn't recognize her, meeting the one person she had never expected to see again...

Beginning to unpack, she eyed the one of the small boxes lying on the bed, knowing full well what was inside but decided not to open it for now. Cheerfully, Minako then adds, "So, compared to you, I'm a new arrival."

Katara nodded-- two weeks wasn't too long of a time compared to most people here, but it seemed as though people adjusted to the new setting at different rates. The waterbender watched as her roommate unpacked, before offering, "Do you need any help?"

"That'd be great! I--" She answered without thinking and frowned when her brain caught up with her words. "Well, I don't have much with me here at all." Staring at the belongings, Minako knew what she needed to do. Peering out from her room at her room mate, she grinned. "Shopping! You should come shopping with me!"

"Shopping?" Katara immediately perked up at the word. She's quite the shopper, after all, usually the one designated to head into town to barter for all their supplies. And it's been a while since she'd been into Balamb Town, so she's also looking forward to that. "Great, we can head into town and find all the stuff you need!"

It looked like the two of them were going to get along just fine.

Grabbing her pouch and tucking it safely away in her pocket, Minako left her room. Shopping -- and not shopping for equipment, but clothes and necessities... Buying only for herself was -- this felt almost foreign. She brushed one lock of hair behind her ear and smiled. "Awesome! You'll have to show me around, Katara. I haven't been out in the town much yet."
