Character(s): Terra Bradford, Rita Mordio
Location: Dorm B103
Rating: PG?
Open/Closed/Finished: Closed
Summary: Terra's getting a roommate this quarter. Time to make nice~!

It was almost funny, the way her previous two roommates vanished before they settled into their new accomodations this quarter. Terra was beginning to think that her room was cursed. Still, she did get word that a new girl would be coming into the dorms this weekend, and Terra was quietly curious about who it would be. For the moment, she remained seated at the table in the main room off of the bedrooms, a sword laid out on the table in front of her as she carefully cleaned dried monster blood off of the metal, and worked on resharpening the edges.

Rita, for her part, wasn't that interested in meeting and greeting people. She wasn't even sure why she'd agreed to come here - sure, it seemed as though it was in her best interests right now, but with a whole world out there taking the first option felt almost... stupid, especially when she had a place to return to! People to return to, too... which wasn't exactly something Rita was familiar with.

With a small "tch" as she tried to make herself believe it didn't matter, and that she should just take this opportunity to learn about a whole new world, Rita threw open the door of her new room.

Which was, apparently, to be shared.

Placing her hands on her hips, she looked at the stranger and her weapon critically. "So what, I get a roommate?" She made it sound like it was a total pain. "Which of these little rooms is mine, then?"

Not even bothering to introduce herself.

"Okay, got it."

She walked in, dumped her uniform and schedule on her bed, then came back to stand in the doorway and examine that useless trinket of an emerald ring. "Don't we even get doors?" she complains, after a moment. "What happens if one of us wants some privacy?"

She sighed, and shook her head. "Oh well, it's not like I can expect much from a dormitory I guess. So who are you? Another one of these 'off-worlders'?"

Rita wouldn't really have considered it to be unusual, anyway - Estelle's hair was pink, after all. "Never thought about it? Guess it's not an issue for some people. Then again, I suppose with other worlds there's cultural differences and all..." And not just cultural. She raised a hand to her cheek thoughtfully, wondering if shoving so many different worlds together could possibly have any consequences for the world itself, before shrugging. Eh, she'd work it out later.

She came over and slapped a hand down on the table. "Okay then, Tina. I'm Rita. Rita Mordio. Guess we're stuck with each other. Just don't get in the way of my research, okay?"

"Research!" Rita confirmed, emphatically. "You know, when you study stuff? Stuff like..." she waves a hand, trying to come up with something before settling on her favourite subject. "Blastia! And ruins, and aer!"

Come to think of it, she didn't think there was any aer here, or anything similar enough to be recognised as such. Strange.

"Though I suppose other worlds might not have that stuff."

"Blastia convert aer into usable energy," Rita elaborated, finally deciding she'd been standing up too long and taking a seat. Despite the statement being somewhat vague without explaining what aer was, she didn't correct Tina's misunderstanding - she couldn't be bothered. "They're an ancient technology from the Geraios Civilisation, and not everything is understood about them."

Placing chin in her hand, with a sigh that could easily be interpreted as boredom, she continued. "They're the main subject of my research."

"There is a possibility," Rita said, "but if they exist, they're not given anywhere near the same level of importance! I would need to do some studying, particularly of the ancient cultures. Try to draw some parallels, find out what's unknown, go out there and dig around a bit. Of course, this world looks just as crowded with monsters as mine, so that could be a lot of trouble to go to."

She was vaguely aware she was still being somewhat difficult to follow, but continued to ignore it. With a shrug, she decided that this material would probably be best left until later.

"For now, I'll just see what these Garden people have to teach me. It looks like Garden uses 'Guardian Forces', and I don't know anything about those yet!"
