Summary: Tobias is caught in Zuko's memory. The memory of when Ozai permanently scarred him and stripped him of his title, banishing him from the Fire Nation. (Unfortunately I couldn't find it on any youtube source; I was only able to locate it on megavideo :( Here is the link. 13:45 is when it allll begins)

In your 'dream' you probably don't even believe you're dreaming. It was still dark - your eyes were closed. It was hot, stifling. As if the air had gone dry, humidity threatening to choke you. But you're relaxed in spite of the nervousness wanting to keep you rooted to the arena stone floor. Voices everywhere were murmuring all around you, and try as you might there was just no way for you to open your eyes to acknowledge the people those voices belonged to. So many thoughts run through your mind, emotions coursing through your limbs; anxiety, adrenaline, a sense of calm and panic mixed in one.

I can do this. I can show them that I'm not afraid. That I'm strong enough to fight a War General.

These thoughts are still going through your head. A hush had fallen over the crowds and it was almost as though you could sense the flames in the vases and sconces flickering, as though the fire in the room was a part of you.

Breathe, Zuko. Just relax. You're going to be Fire Lord one day. Uncle and father are in the crowds somewhere; you have to prove yourself to them, make them proud...

The stifling heat was an unwelcome change to the usually comfortable temperature Tobias had already adjusted to here, he had to admit. But the odd yet at the same time familiar surroundings had the boy's focus more than the unpleasant change in atmosphere: where was he? It was the same odd feeling from the dream before...

But there was something different about this one. Something bad.

And yet, even knowing that, the thing that had his attention above was the odd feeling... sensing... whatever it was of the burning element in the place around them. So much so that it took him a minute to register the first thought that had passed through "his" mind.

Fight. Fighting a War General.

Oh Mew.

And it was suddenly only the relaxed feeling that kept panic from completely overtaking Tobias, though it didn't help that his body wasn't responding to his usual reaction of FLIP OUT.

And the confusion from the rest of the thought didn't help it either.

I AM SORRY THIS TOOK FOREVER sob.

The boy winced at the gong -- mentally, his body still wouldn't move -- before the shared gaze turned to the man across from them. The next thoughts, from a stranger as they were, immediately centered his attention, however.

Tobias remembered very little about his own father; so much so it could really be called nothing. Which is why his perception had suddenly changed, his focus fixed and everything about him clenching.

The perception had changed: it was no longer a dream so much as it was actually happening, everything else known or heard being shoved aside to the back of his mind.

Dad...?
