That's the night that the lights went out

Character(s): Rinoa and Gakupo
Location:  Still kinda in space
Rating: PG
Open/Closed/Finished: Closed
Summary:  Super belated and backdated dream thingie because Tash asked and well... writing another one sounded like fun? /lame
Anyway Tash wanted a glimpse at what was going on in Rinoa's mind while a certain sorceress was in control of her body. This is my, perhaps, unconventional answer to the matter.

You weren't entirely sure how it happened, but the fact that you were outside your body watching as someone else moved you through the motions of walking was pretty apparent. No matter how much you tried to struggle against it there was no way to get back, each time you were forced away from you body, a silent witness to everything that was going on.

Then you hear his footsteps, they're pounding on the ground in a way that you know means he has to be running. Of course he'd be in a  hurry though since there's so many sirens going off. Sirens that you caused, well not you exactly because you're a bystander here. Nothing that you can do but watch helplessly as the one person you'd care for more than anything hurried towards you, no not you, your body.

No! You want to yell. Stay away! I might hurt you. No, not me, but her! That thing that's currently in my body! Still, you can not control your mouth so there's no way to warn him that it's not really you. All you can do is watch in horror as her power repels him and his body goes flying.

Wham! He hits the ground pretty hard, but he's already back up and running at your body again. Squall! Stop. Please!

Bam! He goes flying again and your heart breaks a little. Or well, it feels like it does. It's kind of hard to have a heart when you're not even really in your body after all.

The thuds continue as he stubbornly tires to break through. Each time you try to warn him, to get him to stop before he hurts himself and each time you can only watch helpless as his exercise in futility continues.

Finally, he seems to realize that it's hopeless and follows your body at a safe distance. You continue to try and get him to hear your voice, but it never works. Was this how it was always going to be from now? Living while not really living at all? You certainly hope not. The feeling of her mind against yours is vile and tainted with a darkness that's far more bitter than any coffee could ever be. You want that thing out of your body, but right now you're so very helpless.

He couldn't figure out why he was floating, especially in an unknown place, but he was. But it was strange. Obviously the...body he was outside of, as there was immediate recognition that it wasn't his, in motion, but he was still detached to it. Whatever was controlling him wanted to go back to the body, but after a few attempts it was plain to see that the effort was futile.

The young woman he was following was approached by another person, who was running. The thundering footsteps told him so. Wait...

"Isn't that Commander Leonhart?!"

Gakupo heard himself, or herself as it was the case, yell out to Squall to stay back because he/she was dangerous, but not the real her/him. Was she outside of her own body?

If so, who was in hers?

He winced when the Commander went flying. "Oh, that smarts..." He, too, wanted him to not hurt himself, but really, he would have done the same. Keep trying. But this young woman...she was very powerful. He had never seen such an act of magic before. There was talk of the Off-Worlders being similar to Sorceresses now, so...was this woman one? Or was the being in the woman's body the sorceress? This scene was obviously from the world they got swept to if the Commander was here.

Speaking of, he seemed to have stopped trying to injure himself more, and then there was a new feeling Gakupo hadn't recognized before. It made him feel ill and left a bitter taste in his mouth. What was that? The being inside her body, doing all those cruel things? He doesn't like feeling this way, and wants that unknown entity out.

Was this what everyone thought they were? Vile? Bitter? Could nothing be changed? That hopeless feeling seeps into him, despite not wanting to. He was never predisposed to being so solemn.
