Family Outing!

Summary: Family fun times AHOY!



Everything was...well, near perfect. Red blanket, red plates and cutlery, and his little potted plant that began to sprout a bit. There were mostly junk food like cookies and small cupcakes, but Grell made sure to include a salad. It looked decent...and possibly edible. Grell wasn't so sure about the cookies and cupcakes though. He followed the recipe exactly, so it had to turn out good, right?

BUT! No doubt that his lemonade, hand made, mind you, would be fabulous! He was an expert at making something digestible. Now all he had to do was water the plant and wait for the other two to arrive.

"Whoa," Marco looked suitably impressed. "Almost too cute to eat," he laughed quietly.

Tobias didn't seem to share the same thought, starting to munch on the cupcake once it was given to him. "It's good, too!"

"My cooking is getting better!" Grell wiggled in his seat happily. "First simple things like cookies and cupcakes, then I'll work my way up!" Grell slowly rose from his seat until he stood. "And up!" He rose his arms high above him in a grandiose gesture, his red hair shimmering in the sun as he smiled brightly. "And UP until I can make a wedding cake!"

"A wedding cake, eh?" Marco grinned at the happy red-head, mildly distracted by the wiggling. "How ambitious," he laughed quietly, amused at Grell's determined enthusiasm.

"It was bad?" The boy blinked a little, giving Grell a curious look, tilting his head. "Why do you want a wedding cake?"

"Why wouldn't I want a wedding cake?" Grell tilted his head to the boy!

"Well they are usually reserved for weddings," Marco mused out loud, enjoying all of this in any event.

"Are you and Grell getting married?"

Deadpan face forever. Way to put him on the spot Toby.

"Does it seem that way?" Marco arched an eyebrow cautiously, without even waiting for Grell.

Oh, Marco was answering for him? Grell crossed his arms casually with a smirk, wanting to see where this would go.

"Well you and Grell are always really happy and like each other, and why would you want to make a wedding cake if you weren't getting married?"

"Because, wedding cakes are beautiful, Toby, just like myself." Grell grinned, averting any other implications that of course he'd want to get married. Why wouldn't he?

But it meant nothing if Marco didn't feel the same, so it was best to skirt around the truth. Not like wedding cakes weren't beautiful!

"Well you know," Marco kept his face even, "Someday. When Grell works up to it, eh?" He couldn't exactly bring Grell home to meet his family, but he wasn't sure he could get married without finding SOME way of telling them. Even if his Pops was dead now. "You are right about the beauty factor at least," Marco flashed a grin at the red-head. "Delicious too," he muttered.

Grell was pretty sure he was up to it, but he was always the hasty type. With the life he had, where he had nothing and no one to tie him down in his original world, each day was made with haste. Always now since there was no reason to wait.

He snickered at how delicious he could be. It must be nice to be so naive, eh Toby?

"Thank you, dearest."

Ignorance is bliss, especially with this boy. He just tilted his head, confusedly looking between the two of them before going for something more to eat. Grown-ups were so weird about things.
