Grell and Marco on a date lalala
Characters: Marco & Grell
Location: SECRET rooftop (ah the advantages to flying, am I right?)
Rating: Tentative PG-13 but it's Marco and Grell so R-warning early, if it happens, I'll bump up the security.
Open/Closed/Finished: CLOSED and unfinished
Summary: Marco takes Grell out on a rooftop date under starlight. Figure about a couple of weeks ago.
While Grell could teleport anywhere she wanted to, Marco was unable to resist the urge to sail the skies. Especially since he was capable of it. It was familiar, easy, soothing. He'd been away from home for half a year. Half a year without any of his brothers, the nakama that were supposed to be everything to him. At first, he'd been willing to treat it like a vacation. Less worry about keeping all the little idiots safe from the the world that wanted to hunt down the remaining scum pirates of the crew now that their captain, their father wasn't there to protect them. And it fell to Marco to keep them safe. All 1600 or so.
The skies were his freedom. Air currents, wind drafts, the warm air his own wings could procure in a pinch, all of it was Marco's domain to soar through. Flying in the night skies, he could pretend it was the Grand Line and he was just out scouting and protecting his family like he always did. As they reached their destination, Marco slowed down and circled to land where he'd set up the tables and food; lit with candles and thus easier to spot.

The problem was finding something to wear! All these cute dresses and none of them appealed to him. He sifted through his closet, intent on finding something he hadn't work yet, because buying a new dress the night of their dinner date was silly. Not to mention, there was no time!
So he found a nice dress that would keep him somewhat warm in the cool night air, accompanied by simple red pumps. He wore her usual red coat over it. With the finishing touches of makeup and taming his wild hair, Grell flickered away.
What he saw upon arriving made him widen his green eyes, looking at the table set up in awe. He then smiled, looking around for Marco.

"It's lovely," Grell replied, turning to look at the other. "What do you think?" He could feel those eyes on him, and it only made him feel more beautiful.

Grell turned a light hue of red at the words, fully turning to the other with a smile. "I think you're adding to this glow, my firebird. Such sweet words could make anyone fall to their fate." He placed a hand upon his cheek, stroking it lightly. "What did you prepare for us?"

He looked to the food and licked his lips. "Red and ripe for the eating." He glanced over to Marco with hunger in his eyes. "Let us feast, lest the food turn cold."

Yes, not so pleasant dinner talk.
"I've not narrowed down a favorite, because there is a plethora of dishes that spark my taste buds, but I must say," Grell sat down at the chair pulled out for him, catching that grin. The spotlight was on! "It depends on the chef creating the dish. There have been countless dinner engagements in my lifetime, but so few stand out." He pushed up his frames with a soft chuckle. "Reapers are not so different from humans. The same can be said of our society. We just have a few heightened characteristics."
Or many, but he'll let Marco decide about that.

He was already foreseeing much tongue action during that tutoring, as well.

"Not quite sure, but I sense that our dinner will get cold."
