And I Can Feel You Breathing...
Character(s):
brightsiding and
biladi
Location: REC 101 classroom.
Rating: PG... 13! DUN DUN DUN.
Open/Closed/Finished: Closed.
Summary: Dummies performing CPR on dummies.
[ Their first week of classes and they were already learning something pretty useful! Even with magic to heal with, it was always important to understand how to go without. Vanille had already learned plenty of scenarios in which magic wouldn't be a readily available option for trying to heal someone, thought she couldn't remember all of them off the top of her head. It was better to be safe than sorry, at least. By now, they were done with the textbook learning portion of the class; it was time to pair off, and try practicing the techniques they'd just learned on their own. ]
[ A little distracted, Vanille hadn't noticed everyone around her had already paired off when she finally turned around to find someone to work with. Well— everyone except one person... A familiar face, too! Her lips spread into a smile when she hopped out of her seat and made her way over, leaning in toward her potential partner in a friendly manner. ]
Hi-! Wanna work together?

Hi-! Wanna work together?

Pairing off for actual practice... wasn't as easy as he thought it would be. He's not sure if he was imagining it (probably not), but the cadets native to this land were dancing around him and the other handful of off-worlders. The rest that weren't... didn't seem to eager to pair up with him, either. That's what he gets for asking only the males. ]
Ah... [ Vanille snaps him out of his dilemma pondering. Egypt blinks away the surprise, hesitating before nodding yes. Looks like there isn't anyone else, so there's no choice now. Herp, partnering with a girl. For CPR. Don't really want.
But Egypt remembers this girl. She was nice to him on his first day of classes. If he looks vaguely uncomfortable, it's nothing against her, honest. ]

[ Even if there's a problem, it doesn't look like there's much to be done about it now. ]
Ah— here. [ She holds out a hand for him to take. Everyone's already spreading out into their own corners of the room, and Vanille has her eye on the very back. ] Don't worry, okay-? Shouldn't be too bad. It's not like we actually have to get hurt!
[ ... Too bad that's not actually the problem. ]

He's looking down at the offered hand for the briefest of moments before taking it, barely. Egypt holds on by just the fingers, keeping physical contact to a minimum. That's gonna be a challenge in today's class. God, help him. ]
...Vanilla, right? [ Wrong pronunciation, wrong name. Does he at least get points for effort? ]

[ She doesn't seem to take offense at all to his flubbing her name; in fact, she laughs, giving him a little tug to lead him toward the spot she had in mind. They'd have to go grab the rest of the equipment for it after they claimed a spot, but that was the most important part. ] Pretty close! It's Vanille! [ She makes sure to over-pronounce it for him: Van-eel. ]
I guess it's not a really common name, huh? [ Finally, she has them both right where she wants them, and abandons holding his hand to turn and take him by the shoulders to steer him where to sit down. ]
Ah... Here! I'll go get everything, okay?

The touch at the shoulders isn't unpleasant, but it sure isn't something he's used to from a female. He's blinking when he sits down, and it takes a moment for him to nod in response. Uh, yeah, okay. You go do that. He'll just be... right here. ]

Okay! Ah... I guess... We have to save him, huh? [ Even though he already doesn't have any arms and legs... It'll be a joyless life, for him. ]
[ She stares for a moment... He's kind of creepy-looking, actually. ]
