Office Hours 3: Office Hourser

Character(s): Snow and whoever else shows up.

Location: Second floor, the training classrooms

Rating: PG

Open/Closed/Finished: Open

Summary: Once again, Snow is holding office hours!

Didn't matter if you were in his classes or not, really. Snow had claimed a classroom during free hours in the evening, and casually put around word that he was free to talk about any concerns, questions, problems, or general comments the students might have. His class, any class, whatever.

Of course, fellow SeeDs and Instructors could drop by too.

Unusually, this time around, Snow's actually at a desk, writing something. The world might possibly be coming to an end.

"You actually know how to write?" Espio couldn't help but joke as he walked into the room. He had no idea why he'd even come up here, but he was bored. "Long time no see, I guess."

"Well," Espio said, leaning on the desk, "if I wanted to graduate as a Martial Arts specialist, I could do it this quarter. But I don't. So I have to wait 'til next quarter, because I haven't done all the prereqs for Piloting yet. Seems a bit silly, taking an extra quarter just to take one class, but..."

He just got a shrug in reply, before Espio figured he'd elaborate. "Not really... I haven't got any compulsory classes left - assuming I pass the dance class, which looks more and more unlikely - and I already did the interesting electives. Looks like it'll just be padding with the classes I'm not into."

A teaching assistant? Really? Espio nearly snorted - he couldn't really picture it - but... it was actually an interesting suggestion! It would save him from excessive boredom, at the very least.

"It'd be something to do," he said, after a moment. "So that's an option, sure."

Espio actually had to think about that for a moment - it was a name that sounded familiar, but he couldn't place it for a moment. "No. I had the other instructor."

"He's a pilot, right?" Must be, considering what he was teaching. "I have plenty of experience piloting, but the vehicles here are nothing like back home. I guess taking a few pointers wouldn't be too bad of an idea."

"Never pegged you as the type to do more paperwork than he had to." Lightning's tone was light as she walked into the office, having been looking for Snow for a while now. She'd come up here with a purpose, and it would be an easy one to talk about.

"I need your help with something."

"We all have to, eventually. No way around it." But that is something for another time. For now, Lightning comes closer to the desk, arms crossed over her chest as they nearly always are these days.

"It's Hopes birthday on Saturday. I want to throw him some kind of surprise party, but..." She shrugs, letting her posture loosen.

"I don't know how to. I've never done that kind of thing before."

Snow could joke about it; Lightning was unlikely to do so and it shows as she shakes her head, leaning against the desk while she thinks. Snow's idea has merit, that's for sure.

"It wouldn't be too hard once we've got the okay. All the classrooms are empty in the evening hours after the make up classes are over." Which won't be a problem to schedule around; it would just be a matter of getting Hope to buy into it and getting everyone into the class room.

"We'll be in Fisherman's Horizon by then, too. It'll be simpler to keep the guests in here than out in the town or in the Inn."

Late!

Hope had gotten word of Snow's free room in the evenings. Something he liked the idea of. He'd bene hitting the books obsessively lately. He wandered down the corridor, no books in his bag, just a bottle of water and some other bits and pieces he doesn't go with out.

He walked into the classroom after a casual knock. “Hey Sn-” He stopped. Dumbstruck. The hero... Snow is at a desk. He's writing. How- What- When- What- What?!?! Hope looks unflatteringly stupidly at Snow for a moment. Okay, maybe it wasn't that much of a big deal now he thought about it. But... Snow was more for the confrontation right? He... he confronted Lightning.

“Hey.” He said a moment, realising he hadn't even greeted Snow. “How are you?” He asked moving closer to the desk. Sitting on one of the other desks he took out his water bottle and took a drink.

"I've never seen you sitting inside, at a desk, writing stuff down. And yeah. it does make you look shorter." He grinned back.

"So... my classes are going good. All the notes and homework I've done. I think I'm ready for my tests and stuff. I'm trying to take it a bit easier. Been kind of 'all work no play.'" He said almost apologetically.

"I know. I don't think I'll struggle. Except maybe with Rock Climbing. But I only really took that class as something active to do. Next time... I won't enrol for a physical class last thing on a friday though."

That was his one mistake. His focus often wandered and he was very tired. Not that it stopped him. He'd done battle after battle whilst on a few hours sleep whilst on the run. "I can't wait to progress onto my other classes. I've got a lot less to take this time around. I was just trying to get the worst of it over and done with." He laughed.

"I know not to do again!"

Serah baking the cake...that was the best idea Lightning had heard all day; getting her in the kitchen would be a terrible idea and a storebought cake would just...be bad.

"I'm sure a few balloons would be fine inside the classroom. Make things more...festive, I guess."

Festive. Not a word Lightning ever thought she would say. Things really do change when planning parties for family.
