If you're having girl problems, I feel bad for you son
Character(s): Captain Marvelous, Joe Gibken. OPEN TO SEEDS AND TROUBLEMAKERS
Location: Various places in the school.
Rating: PG. They are from a kids show after all no matter how much gay subtext there is.
Open/Closed/Finished: So very open
Summary: Marv and his boyfriend have decided they need a challenge. Normally that would be sword training but, they don't have enough of those either at the moment.
So they're stealing some from a military school. Because that's what pirates do.
Few minutes past midnight, two figures left the quiet Inn at Fisherman’s Horizon and headed towards the large mobile school. Each with a gun and sabre in each hand, the two pirates glanced around rather empty Garden campus and one of them smirked at the sight. They both had expected it to be quiet here since the cadets had the curfew so, the only people that should be around were the troublemakers who likely won’t get in their way and a handful of SeeDs who might offer something of a challenge to the pair.
But that was the fun of it. Not only to get the treasure but the adventure and troubles that it would take to get to it. Right now, the specific treasure was a handful of extra weapons, specifically swords so Joe could practice five sword style and anything that looked valuable so they could have extra cash on hand since they didn’t have this world’s currency at the moment.
“Start at each end and work our way back towards this floor?” Marvelous asked, turning to his first mate, a never-ending smirk on his face. Joe just glanced back with a slight grin of his own, sword resting on his shoulder and nodded in response, simply stating, “Fine with me.”
“Good,” The captain said, twirling his gun between his fingers, “Let’s go.”
With his orders clear, they both sprinted off in the opposite directions.
[OOC: Marvelous and Joe have split up and are taking different floors so there will be separate threads for each of them. Since this is at night, specifically it is for those who are of SeeD class but, if you have a cadet who tends to ignore the curfew feel free to have one of them run into these guys as well. Trust me, they won’t snitch on the cadet being out of bed.]

Captain Marvelous.
Ending up at a row of classrooms first, Marvelous went with the direct route in finding out if any of them housed any spare weapons. He opened each door and held his gun up inside, taking a quick glance of the room before deeming it safe. Once in a while, he managed to get a door that was locked and that only meant that there could be something behind it that made it worth locking.
Standing back a bit, he kicked open the door and pointed his gun in while he glanced around, shoulders slumping a bit at the lack of anything that interested him in these rooms.
But still, him kicking doors probably would attract some attention so he quickly tried to head off to the next hallway.
Re: Captain Marvelous.
Nunchaku on the floor, she is bending over, adjusting her floppy boots. Selphie is regretting staying up late to work on her website. What kind of example was she setting as a SeeD for the cadets? At the sound of rapid footsteps Selphie straightens up, looking over her shoulder.
"Huh?"
no subject
Opening the next door, Marvelous walked in to look at the room, finally taking his time and rummaging through things in hopes to find something worthwhile.
no subject
Her cherry-colored nunchaku thrown over her shoulder, she slips down a hallway of classrooms. Selphie is a teeny bit too curious for her own good. From the far end of the hall , she can hear the noises of movement coming from a classroom. She holds her nunchaku in front her as she nears the open door.
"Who's there?"
Silly girl. Doesn't Selphie realize that in horror movies the killer never answer?
no subject
Still, he held his gun in one hand behind his back before responding to her, "Pirates. Go away."
no subject
"HEEEEY! I will not 'go away'. What are you doing in there?"
Peeking into the classroom, she sees the culprit. Selphie steps into the doorway, her arms crossed. That's gotta be intimidating. Right? Whats scarier that a five foot teenage girl with nunchaku?
no subject
And he just smirks at her, not giving a damn that she was attempting to make herself the law in this place when she sounded nervous before.
"Doing what pirates do best," He said with a small shrug of his shoulders, "Hunting for treasure." Or in this case, any weapons that could be found.
"Kid, d'you know where the artillery room is?"
no subject
"Yep! But you can't do there you ain't authorized."
no subject
no subject
"I am Selphie Tilmitt, SeeD ID#21295 Weapon Specialist Operative, Blunt Weapon Platoon, Level 3",she says it proudly. Squinting at him, she takes another step into the room. "Who are you? I ain't seen you around here!"
no subject
"Captain Marvelous. Space Pirate hunting for some weapons," He introduced and when he was standing right in front of her, he raised his gun so it was pointing at her between the eyes. "Asking Selphie Tilmitt to kindly escort him to the artillery to get a few swords."
no subject
doesn't appreciate the looking down the barrel of a gun. Keeping her compose,
she calls up her fading stock of magic, just in case Selphie has to act
quickly. "I ain't authorized,"She grumbles, hoping she is convincing. She
isn't used to lying, and prays that years of trainings pay off.
no subject
Despite his gun was at her back, he wouldn't fire. It was mostly a bluff since, despite being a pirate, he wasn't about to force a hostage situation. But if she didn't know that and did what he said, everything would be fine.
no subject
Starting to walk, she seems to be going on a tirade. "You are such a BIG meanie beanie head. How old are you? Like 40? You are picking on a sweet little girl like me!"
Selphie's mind begins to work as she walks down the hall. It is forming a plan of escape. Once again, her stock of magic appears, fuzzy in her brain. Magic before brute force.
no subject
"And I'm 23 in Earth years so don't go saying I'm some old man, brat."
no subject
A hazy spell forms in her mind. She begins to focus, preparing to let out a round of Thunder.
no subject
If she was leading him aimlessly, he wasn't going to be happy.
"Oi. Girl," He said, looking at her a bit more suspiciously than before, "How much longer till we get there?"
no subject
The hairs on the back of her neck stand up as the magic she had stocked crackled through her. With a swift turn she is facing her capture. Selphie gives him a big smile. Then without further warning the hall lights up as the Thunder spell crashes down a few feet from the two.
no subject
For what he wasn't sure.
Until she turned around. Raising an eyebrow at her, Marvelous wasn't expecting a bolt of lightning to fall down next to him and, quickly as he could, he stepped back from both it and her.
"Not bad," He said, "Leading me away from them until you could fight back."
no subject
Selphie holds the over-sized nunchaku in front of her. "So what happens now? We fight?"
no subject
Putting his gun away and carrying his sword over his shoulder, Marvelous just said "See ya, kid" and started running off back the way they came.
no subject
There is another outburst of Thunder magic in front of him. She is grinning,"I ain't letting you get away that easy!"
no subject
Although, almost running into another bolt of lightning, he paused a bit, turning so he could get his gun and fire a few shots in her direction.
Not to hit her but, just to scare her off by shooting close enough.
no subject
"HEEEY!"
no subject
"Damn it," He grumbled, rummaging through his pockets for his mobirate and a ranger key. If she was going to keep pursuing him, he wouldn't be able to escape easily and she would keep following him.
With his mobirate and the Go-On Red key in hand, Marvelous just kept running, just because he wanted to see if she would just be throwing lighting at him.
Joe.
As he happened upon one of those classrooms, he opened the door slowly, just in case there was someone on the other side. When he was sure no one was, he scanned the room. There seemed to be nothing of interest here, but that was just on the surface. Surely, there'd be something here.
Upon further inspection, he did find something. A locked something.
He shrugged and pointed his gun at the lock and pulled the trigger.
And that was that. He'd have to be quick though, because someone probably heard that.
no subject
But the gunshot caused the pair to jump slightly. Instinct called for them to duck into the nearby shadows and for Shin to make herself as small as possible. Raseth, meanwhile slowly crawled off her shoulder and to the hallway to act as her eyes. He paused, catching sight of Joe by the doorway. A single glance and headjerk to his partner was motion enough for them to mobilize. If there was anyone planning any theft, it may make for good merits. Maybe.
Both reaper and weasel passed silently through the shadows, coming up rather noiselessly behind Joe. Head tilted, she continued to watch the other being a moment before speaking up in a hushed whisper. "Hey." she managed to hiss out. "Whatcha doin?"
no subject
Just as he was about to pull it out to take a closer look at it, he heard a voice from behind him. He was startled to say the least, if his sudden turn into a defensive stance didn't say so already. Not knowing who was behind him he automatically pointed his gun in that direction.
When he realized it was merely some kid, he lowered his weapon. He also took notice of the little, furry animal with him.
Was that a... weasel?
"Nothing. Go back to where you came from."
no subject
But as her attention remained on Joe, the ermine stretched forward slightly to rest its front paws on the barrel of the gun. It mimicked the human action of folding an arm under its chin and propping its head up with a han-- paw. An ear flicked before it finally spoke up. "Doesn't look like nothing. Heck, if it was nothing, you wouldn't be sneaking around in the middle of the night, yeah?" he asked, nose twitching slightly.
Through all this, hispartner rolled her eyes slightly with a sigh. "C'mon, Ras..." she sighed. "Don't go butting into someone else's business."
"But he's definitely doing something!"
"All the more reason for us to stay out of it."
Almost as if ignoring the girl, the ermine pulled himself back and stood on his hind legs. His attention back to Joe, a small smirk came to its face. Or at least what seemed to be a smirk. "We're bored, pal. Need a hand?"
"Ras!"
no subject
"It's none of your business," he said to the both of them. "You should be in your dormitory, with all the other cadets."
It was merely a guess at this point, that they were cadets. They looked too young to be SeeD or otherwise. Besides, they were too nosy for their own good. If they were SeeD, Joe would've been kicked out right now, not being interrogated as to why he was breaking into a stockpile of weaponry.
Plus, the little animal wouldn't be claiming to be 'bored' and asking if he needed a 'hand.' Now that was just weird.
"I don't need any help." He thought about that for a second. No, he actually did need help. He really didn't know where he was looking. So not even a second later, he took back his statement and tacked on his own smirk. "On second thought, where do you keep the rest of your weapons?"
no subject
"Ras, yknow, I really don't think we should be butting into this guy's work." she muttered, almost under her breath. "Besides. He's got a gun and even if we're kinda not... killable... ish... I don't wanna take the chance."
"Shin, c'mon. Live a little!" the ermine grinned before turning his attention back to Joe. His manner began to flit between casual and cocky, almost as if to judge the other's reaction.
"Weapons, huh? Well, I guess it all depends on who's looking and why, yeah?"
no subject
Joe's expression never wavered as the weasel spoke. Yes, it was still odd to him to be having a conversation with one, but it did sound like the thing could help him out a little.
And what was that about not being able to be killed?
"If you're not planning on being of any help, then you should leave."
no subject
And before he can continue, the reaper pulled him over with a hand quickly clamped over his mouth. "Weasel!" she suddenly blurted out. "HE'S A WEASEL!"
no subject
"A weasel," he started, "A weasel who talks, apparently. I doubt that's all there is to it. What are you?"
Now that question was directed to both of them.
no subject
"I'm Raseth Menas but hey, call me Ras." the ermine finally finishes, flashing a bit of a salute to Joe before settling back down.
"Don't get to excited though. We know more about weapons back home. As for the ones here, well...some of them aren't exactly garden variety." Shin continues, picking up where her partner left off. If you can't beat them, join them. This guy had a secret and hey, so did they. "I'm Shin, by the way." she adds almost hastily.
"And yeah. He's my scythe."
no subject
It's not like Joe had a secret, really. He just had no reason to tell them anything, even his name. That was just how he was-- he only gave information up if it was relevant, and right now, what was relevant was finding the school's stash of weaponry. Or at least some of it.
Raising another eyebrow at the two of them he had to ask. "A scythe? You don't look like a weapon." He eyed the weasel again.
After a shrug, he continued to rummage through the drawer and pulled out something that resembled a sword-- its blade was thicker and broader than normal, and its handle had a trigger. He wasn't quite sure what to make of it, so he held it up to the other two to see if they could make sense of it for him.
"What is this?"
no subject
The ermine pulled himself off his partner's shoulder and moved to her head. There would be reason to reveal himself in due time. Maybe during a fight. He was never one who wanted to shift forms without a reason... but maybe showing off would be a good enough reason in time. Before he could speak, however, his partner's eyes widened in recognition.
Oh no. Here she went again.
"That's a gunblade! It's pretty uncommon here where weapon usage is concerned but it's native to this universe!" she began, leaning a bit closer with her arms folded behind her back to get a better view of the thing. "See, you use it like a normal sword but to give it a little extra oomph, you can pull the trigger and it goes off like a gun. But you gotta time it just right for maximum impact."
no subject
He really was going to pocket the gunblade and run off, if these two weren't actually going to try and stop him. He had a feeling that they wouldn't-- and if they tried, he had a few tricks up his sleeve as well.
"Thanks for the advice," he said, starting off. This was enough for now, anyway. It was something along the lines of a sword, and that's what he and Marvelous were looking for. Three more of these, and he'd be able to practice five-sword style with no problem.
no subject
"Hey!" she called out in a harsh half-whisper as Joe started to take off. "Just take it easy because a Gunblade's heavier than a normal sword. If you're used to a normal one, your timing might be just a teeeeeny bit off on the first go."
Again, Ras and his piercing stare.
"What? The guy needed help, right? Can't be anything bad with trying to help out, right?" the reaper sighed, stuffing her hands into her pockets.
no subject
The only problem with the weapon was a its odd shape and trigger. Why a sword would have a trigger was a little beyond him, but he was sure he'd figure it out.
Before he made his way out, he tossed a smirk over his shoulder. "Remember, I was never here."
no subject
It was an odd habit of Quisits; some nights an odd bout of nostalgia would overcome the Lieutenant Commander and she would bring the pile of paperwork down from her third floor office to her old classroom once it was late enough to be empty so she could do her work.
The sound startled Quistis, and immediately she stood from her chair with her hand detaching her whip from her belt. Without a second thought she made her way to the classroom adjacent, stepping in cautiously with her weapon held at the ready.
"What are you doing?" Her voice was firm and demanding once she spotted the person who was responsible for the gunshot, her eyes darting from the lock blasted off the drawer then back to the intruder.
no subject
Shit, a SeeD.
He quickly rummaged out a gunblade and bolted straight for the window. Though, something compelled him to look back again. He didn't know if it was to see if she was going to follow him or if he wanted to size her up. Maybe it was a mixture of both, but he couldn't be sure. She wasn't that bad to look at either, for a military woman.
"I was just leaving," he said, unlatching the window.
Joe really meant to get himself out of there, really, but just kept staring at her.
no subject
"Who are you?"
no subject
"I'm a pirate," he answered. It was bit on the vague side, but it was as much information as he was willing to give. He smirks at her, resting the gunblade on his shoulder.
Yet, he still wasn't moving away. Instead, he takes a step closer to the blonde woman. For some reason, he found her interesting.
no subject
"What else have you taken from the school?"
no subject
"Yes, a pirate," he said confidently, and taking yet another step forward. Something compelled him to do so, and he really didn't want to argue it. She was very pretty, and quite honestly, he didn't find himself that attracted to women all that often.
no subject
"Drop your weapon." It was a firm order, her brow furrowed.
no subject
Unfortunately, even though he did find himself a tiny bit attracted to the woman in front of him, he wasn't going to listen to her. His hand gripped the handle of the gunblade tighter. He wasn't going to drop it.
"I don't think so," he replied, and stopped advancing.
