Jade tugged Karkat along eagerly, grinning. "Come on, it's not much further! You brought the box and the little blanket like I asked, right? You are going to love this surprise, Karkat!"

Okay, finals might be tomorrow, but that didn't matter! She and Karkat were going to have fun.

"Does the word finals mean nothing to you, Harley? Yes I brought the fucking box and blanket, I have no idea why, but they're right here under the arm you're not attached to like some kind of overexcited human barnacle."

He was dragging his feet along, though he'd stopped resisting her tugging about ten minutes ago, realizing it was futile because she was a lot stronger than she looked and it wasn't really like he could actually hide from her anyway. The privacy of his own dorm room was never truly private, even with a blind roommate, because Jade Harley didn't understand the concept of knocking, most days.

"Karkaaaaaaat. You'll do fine! It's not like we're going to be here forever. It'll be-"

Bam. And suddenly they found themselves balancing awkwardly on a rooftop in another part of town.

"Oh, nooo. These power thingies are such a nuisance, gosh. Are you okay, Karkat?"

"I'm not worried about my marks on the tests, Harley, I'm--"

He actually latched himself onto Jade's shoulder when they moved, and he didn't quite shout so much as he just made a highly alarmed sound and nearly crushed the little shoebox he had under his other arm. When they were stationary again he wrenched himself away from Jade entirely.

"Jegus fuck, Harley get that bullshit under control and don't touch me again until you have it there we could have died just now."
