Mandatory Assembly

Summary: Headmaster Cid's called a mandatory assembly for all students.



After yesterday's meeting with the new Commander, Headmaster Cid knew he had little choice but to gather the students today to alert them about the changes that'd happen at their (and his) beloved Balamb Garden.

So he'd made an annoucement over the intercom and alerted all students, staff, and SeeD that they needed to be at the Quad promptly at 7:00 PM sharp after dinner. The stage's up and ready for the assembly, the folded chairs are all in place, but the chill in the air's enough to alert people to potential problems - if the new Commander sitting beside him doesn't alert people as it is.

Ronnae nodded, "I am all for doing more work to help with the money issues. Heavy workloads are something I'm very familiar with... I guess I'm just upset that we weren't told earlier... and that now it seems almost accusatory is all."

She sighed and shook her head before trying to smile.

"Maybe it won't be as bad as it sounds. It might just be a more militaristic institution which again I'm more than used to."

Ahh, Nepeta nodded. "Yea, that is kinda fooey of them. Waiting till the situation was this dire was a pretty poor move on their choice.

"Hopefully not! She did say she wouldn't interfere in our day to day lives so I think things will be ok. It'll just mean a lot more busywork for all of us and that could be a good thing. It's pretty easy to get restless here. Especially in between quarters."

"This is true. I suppose I shouldn't be such a worry wart and try to make the best of it with what's given to me."

She paused and giggled a bit awkwardly, embarrassed, "S'not like I got much else to do huh?"

Nepeta gave a playful little nudge to let her know it was alright.

"Worry isn't a bad thing as long as you don't let it keep you furom being happy. Heck, it can be a good thing if anything. If they let Cadets start doing missions then maybe we'll be able to do one together all the sooner. Especially with Purfessor Slughorn's new potion we really will be able to go anywhere without having to worry!"

Ronnae smiled timidly and nodded,

"Going on a mission together would be great I'll admit. The potion however..."

She paused and looked a bit uncomfortable about the thought.

"I think I'll be fine without it... I... Don't like things like that is all."

"The changing or the magic? Or both?" Her tone wasn't accusatory, simply curious. Whatever reason she could understand. The idea appealed to her for reasons that...probably weren't the best, even she acknowledged as much.

"The changing... mostly because my experiences with such things haven't been pleasant in the past. And if it's not a necessary or a mandatory thing, I'd rather not risk it myself... I'm sure it's safe and all but... y-you know, worries and such." she replied a bit awkwardly.
