Character(s): Grell & Toby
Location: Toby's room
Rating: PG? Grell will...keep herself in check? /unsure
Open/Closed/Finished: Closed
Summary: Grell finds out how Toby got that black eye.
Not having seen Toby in a few days, Grell walked over to his room with a basket of baked goods and fruit. She didn't make the food, luckily, but that boy really needed to eat more. She had her two cats in tow since they were far too cooped up in her room for her liking. Both were on leashed harnesses.
While untangling herself, she knocked on his door three times before continuing to untangle her pets. "You two! You're supposed to be smarter than this!"

"Hi, Mom!"

Any other thought Grell had went out the window as Grell took in the black eye. Her eye twitched in anger. "What happened--"
But she also forgot about the leashes, and how tangled they got, so she topples over to the side comically. Meanwhile, her pets simply walk on over to her and mew at her fallen form. How can she be mad at them? Now back to Toby.
"What. Happened."
no subject
"Mom? Are you okay?"
Ignoring her question? Nooo, never.
no subject
"Who did this." She could ignore questions, too.

Tobias is not that good at lying, unfortunately, and it shows. Mostly because... well, he doesn't like lying. But in this case...
"It's no big deal..."
all the keywords
Grell sat on her knees and looked to Toby with green eyes, looking into his soul almost.
"...should I guess, Tobias? Because something tells me that I would be CORRECT." One of the cats came up to her and leaned up on her lap, wondering what was going on. "Do you wish to tell me the truth, or should I come to my own conclusions?"
ohsnap
However...
"...It was my fault." This, first, he has to establish. "I don't remember it exactly, but I... changed. I did something really bad and I deserved it."
Pause. Then...
"...Espio hit me."
That's right ohsnap
"Care to explain?" Before she goes off to slice that chameleon up.

Tobias was clearly upset at this, looking down at his hands as his shoulders trembled a little.
"...He wouldn't... tell me all of it..."
no subject
"It still does not give him the right to harm you." And with that, she stood up.
no subject
"Please don't hurt him! I did deserve it... it's okay..."
no subject
Obviously, she did not think this was okay. Thus she began to walk off on a mission of her own.
no subject
"Because he told me it was bad. Very bad. And Espio doesn't lie to me. So I know I deserved it."

"Please don't hurt him!"
no subject
"And do what?! Allow him to harm you whenever he feels like it?! No, I refuse to let this slight pass like a cloud!" She placed a hand on her hip, gripping her weapon. "You had better give me a reason why I should not KILL HIM."
no subject
And now Tobias himself was crying a little, reaching out to grab onto Grell's shirt.

Although Grell looked to Toby impassively, with a face free of any emotion, she did allow her weapon to disappear. She was not going to let this go.
"This is not over, Tobias. You will have to learn to defend yourself, no matter whom it may be."
Even if it may be herself, because she will hunt down that little lizard.
no subject
With Espio, though he won't say that. He didn't need to set Grell off even more.
"...Thank you, Mom."
no subject
"Don't thank me, yet. I've only delayed the inevitable."
no subject
He could hope that he fixed it. It was wrong, but he could hope. For now, though, he simply hugged Grell, burying his face in her chest gently.

What was she going to do with him..
