teach me to cook like you
Characters: Thumbelina & Damian Razem
Location: Home Ec room
Rating: PG (well, Damian has a foul mouth)
Open/Closed/Finished: Closed
Summary: Thumbelina and Damian are on a "date" (i.a. Thumbelina gets a cooking lesson)
Thumbelina's not sure how to approach the "date". For sure, she is not intending (or even planning) for the get-together to be "date"-worthy. She'd known before that Damian is a nice young man and she had listened to a few stories about his magnificent culinary skills. And while Cissie is a wonderful chef and cooking teacher, Thumbelina wants to learn other recipes from someone else.
She's chosen jeans and a blue t-shirt, and is wearing her hair back in a braid (after that one cooking experience where she'd made herself a nice batter-covered mess, she didn't want to risk ruining her nice, clean hair which took hours to brush straight again.
It'll be easy to find her in the cooking area. She's wearing a grape-print apron and pulling out the cooking utensils she thinks will be needed.

Casually, he walks into the cooking area and sets his books on the counter. "Hey," he says, nodding at her politely. "Ready to go?"
It's a rhetorical question - he can tell she's dressed for the occasion. He's not wearing anything fancy, just jeans and a Balamb Garden t-shirt, but part of him wonders if he should've brought an apron. Baking shouldn't get that messy. He hopes.

She moves aside a scooch to give Damian room at the counters. "I can't wait to learn some of your recipes. They sounded really good from what people told me." She takes up a spatula, giving Damian an eager expression that'd belong to any willing student.

It was both flattering and embarrassing. On one hand, it felt fantastic to have people acknowledge his ability - but on the other, why did people feel the need to spread this information? It was kinda useless in the long run.
"Uh... thanks?" He finally says after a moment, glancing over at the supplies before he heads over to the fridge and pulls out ingredients. "They're probably exaggerating."

"Have you made brownies before? We're gonna start with that unless you haven't."

She thinks a moment and then shakes her head. "No. Cissie's cookbooks had some brownies, though. Are they the mushy, chocolate squares?"
