Homesick feels worse somedays...
Characters: Ronnae + anyone
Location: Obel Lake
Rating: PG-ish?
Open/Closed/Finished: Open
Summary: A bittersweet day away from home.
Ronnae had woken up today melancholy and she already knew why. She was far from home on this once a year day and she could tell that it would take a toll on her even before getting out of bed. That alone took a bit; She remained looking at the ceiling for a long time, memories of her family and home taking up the majority of the moment before she finally set off to shower.
Once bathed and dressed, she decided to go grab something from the cafeteria and make her way towards the lake they had stopped at for the break. She picked may of her favorites, stuffing them in her bag before she had begun to leave, only turning to grab a slice of strawberry cake for the occasion... After all, can't have a birthday without cake?
Once she arrived at the lake, she had taken a spot under a nice, shady tree near the lake itself. It almost felt nostalgic... It was trees and areas like these where she'd like to lounge and lazy about back when she was younger... Today it simply felt depressing as it was lacking the teasing from her siblings or the odd yet silly topics one of her only friends would bring up as they lazied about together.
She missed her parents the most... her mothers and her fathers... and how attentive they had always been to them, especially on days such as this one. Ronnae fought back the tears and shook her head, scoffing at herself at how pathetic it would seem to some of her peers from school, or the regimen... She finally began to take a few bites of her food in hopes that it would drown out the sorrow.

At Pinky's outburst she couldn't help but laugh a little. "It's just... f-formalities really. It's my full name anyways. Ronnae is just fine."
no subject
"Yeah, I'm not so good with formality stuff! It's too...STUFFY! So just call me Pinkie, okay?!" Just don't call me after midnight!"
Yes, she was laughing at her own joke.

"I'll make sure to remember that." she said sheepishly.

"Found it?" she asked timidly.

" Your smile!!"

"W-what?" she asked surprised, though it was a confused yet pleasant surprise.

"I s-suppose, yeah... I should have been trying to do that I guess." She wondered if Pinky was the type to not let anything keep her down.

Pinkie's world was just this simple.
"Don't your friends know your birthday is today?!"
no subject
"I... no. Not really... I didn't want to bother them..."

Nonetheless, she appreciated Pinky's concern. "Well, yeah I guess... It's not that I don't need them... I just... feel like maybe I don't.... deserve em."
no subject
"We'll, you've got one friend that just won't quit on you! Rain, sleet or snow, we'll ALWAYS be friends! Everyone deserves friends, no matter what! I mean, just look at Princess Luna! She used to be SUPER EVIL AND EANTED TO ECLIPSE ALL OF EQUESTRAI! But now everyone likes her! All she needed was some friends!"

A small smile spread on her lips and she looked down a bit timidly. "So we're f-friends then?" she asked sheepishly.
no subject
"Absofruitly! And the first thing I'm gonna do is throw you a birthday party! Buuuuuuuut since its pretty last minute, and Gummy needs to get fed pretty soon, it'll be just us! DON'T WORRY THOUGH!! We'll still have truckloads of fun!!"
no subject
"R-really, you don't have to. The thought is more than enough to make my day, really." she replied embarrassed.

Ronnae stood up and picked up her things slowly before hugging her backpack to her chest and looking around before turning her attention to Pinky timidly.
"Alright, I'm g-good I think."

"So where to?"
no subject
Pinkie pointed over in the distance, where there is a pink tent set up. "Over yonder!! Can you see the pink tent?"
no subject
"Yeah, I can see it," Seems Pinky really liked... well, pink.
Ronnae started walking at a relaxed pace, keeping her head down.
