Description: Ardos is wrestling with his emotions and instincts now that he's eaten hearts. He may need someone to talk him down.

To finally taste that which you have always wanted to taste... To devour heart like you were meant to... It is hard to go back. Instincts flare around beings with hearts. A desire that he'd easily kept in check is becoming something he must actively fight. The emotions he'd devoured previously are naught but fumes now, and it's driving him mad. That's why he's pacing right now in the quad, claws folding behind his back easily.

"Oh. Okay," Marco grabs a seat too, sitting cross-legged nearby. What is danger? Seriously, not even the news that Ardos is suddenly hungering hearts seems to faze Marco at all.

"In my world we have something similar. Zoans like me, people or animals who can turn into other animals, there's a fine line, eh? Carnivorous zoans are extremely blood-thirsty, and any zoan has to be careful not to lose himself to a sort of 'awakened' form. Since you can still talk, I know you can't be too far gone yet. Mind if I ask what's holding you back?"

"I'm not sure. I am sure that, were I the same as when I first arrived, I probably wouldn't be holding back."

Maybe he's just fallen into some humanity. Maybe he's evolved--not like other Heartless. He's not so sure anymore. But talking with Marco... Yes, talking is taking his mind off of the hunger.

"Interesting," and really Marco is interested. And should probably be a lot more freaked out about all of this, but nope.

"So you've grown up a little, perhaps? Obviously there's some reason part of you doesn't want to, eh?"

"I don't know what the reason is."

An admittance that he is vulnerable. If he doesn't know something, he can't act. He can't cling to it if he doesn't know what it is. He isn't human, so can he call it humanity?

"Perhaps I should just admit I'm a monster already."

"What good would that do?"

Marco shrugs, "I am a monster, and I'm nakama of monsters, but we still have minds and things we wish to do, eh?"

That gives Ardos pause as he thinks. Marco is... Startlingly correct. A monster doesn't necessarily lack thought or ambition.

"...I never thought of it that way. But you're correct... The data I've gathered doesn't mean monsters can't feel and think."

Which makes things a little better.

"So let's say you're a monster, there's still something holding you back from eating hearts again even though part of you wants to," Marco reasoned carefully.

"Maybe you don't want to lose control and hurt your friends?"
