DRRR and Friends 2: Electric Boogaloo
Character(s): Rion, Shinra and Celty
Location: Dorm A211
Rating: PG? Maybe PG-13?
Open/Closed/Finished: Open-ish? The door'll be open at the beginning, if someone wants to poke in.
Summary: Rion's met his roommate, but he hasn't really 'talked' to him. ... or met his fiance.
Rion had ... a day. For the young SeeD cadet, this usually involved paying attention in classes, feeling awkwardly out of place, blushing a lot, and occasionally asking someone to talk for him so he could answer a question. Rion didn't mind the classes part, the learning part - those parts of being a SeeD were awesome. It was the "dealing with other people who were as smart or smarter than he was and bigger than he was and generally better" that was the problem.
But at least he'd gotten back to his dorm okay. Part of him wanted to call his mom or something like that, but he knew that wasn't... really possible, and asking someone like the Commander or the Headmaster to do that would make him look even more like a kid. So instead, he just laid out on his bed, reading over one of the class readings for tomorrow (the Garden Code, which was about as interesting as one could expect). At least his door was open, if anyone wanted to say hello. (Rion wouldn't understand why, though. He wasn't very interesting.)

Upon arriving, he noticed that his roommate's door was open and that someone appeared to be inside.
"Oh, Celty. It looks like my roommate is here. Shall we go meet him?" he invited, curious as to what kind of person he'd be sharing a space with for the next few months he studied here.

She crossed the threshold with him and made it into his dorm room, finding it to be quite smaller than their apartment. She looked up and over to the occupied room, tilting her body to the side some as she tried to see just who was in there, nodding to Shinra's request.

Roommates But there was only one bed. Oh, she must be a guest or something of his, since he knows that Shinra's his roommate. He looked up from his reading, waving and smiling a little uncomfortably - he didn't really know either of them, and the whole 'this girl is wearing a helmet inside' thing was a little intimidating.
Mind you, Rion is easily intimidated, so this isn't saying much.

And by 'guests', Shinra meant 'Celty', but what were a few semantics among friends?

She reached his door frame and waited until Shinra moved to the side to bow towards him, saying nothing with her cat-eared helmet securely sitting on her neck.

"I'm Celty. Nice to meet you."

"What kind of condition do you have?" Shinra went on to ask, unable to hold himself back. He was positively glowing as he moved over to Rion's bedside and borrowed Rion's desk chair for Celty to sit down on, remaining standing himself.

Same thing in her opinion. She moved her hand out and touched Shinra's shoulder gently, trying to pull him back some and make him heel, attempting to calm his fanboy-ish tendencies toward physical abnormalities.'Shinra!' She mentally scolded him.

But what kind of condition he had? While he didn't like thinking of it as a 'condition', that was a question he could answer. He started writing, holding it up so both of them could read his response.
I'm mute.
No explanation given other than that. He picked up enough on Shinra's ... look that he was slightly weirded out, like he's being inspected or something. It wasn't a feeling he appreciated, especially because he generally felt like he would fail the sizing-ups and inspections people gave him. After all - look at him.

He's starting to look a little nervous, like he's being interrogated.
