Secret Santa... Away!

Summary: Koriand'r gives Pinkie Pie her present.

Koriand'r did her best to find what she thought was the best present for Pinkie Pie and stay with in the budget allowed. She thought she had found something that Pinkie Pie would enjoy.

Now, the best way to give it to her. One of the suggestions in the letter was a scavenger hunt. After checking what that was, she thought that Pinkie Pie would enjoy that best. So she set up a Scavenger Hunt on a day when it was quiet so her clues wouldn't be disturbed.

Rather than giving the first clue to Chase to give to her, she left a note outside her door when she knew Pinkie Pie was there and knocked before racing off down the hall and around a corner.

Pinkie opened the mouth quickly because how often was it that she had guests? She did find that odd that the door was closed in the first place, but oh well!

"HELLO?!" She looked around in excitement but saw no one. Disappointed, she pulled her head back from the door, scratching her head. "I KNOW I heard someone knock!" It was then that she noticed a note on the door and took it off, reading it quietly. Her eyes lit up in delight, which followed a gasp.

"OMIGOSHACLUE!!" Pinkie disappeared for a moment before emerging with a safari-like hat and a backpack before following the clue with a bounce in her step.

The clue would lead her to library. It leads to a specific book on a specific shelf. It might also help that the next clue is sticking very slightly out from under said book on the shelf. Koriand'r didn't really understand the point of hiding it in a book. It was supposed to be fun and hiding it in a book seemed like too much work to be fun if she had to search the book.

Also because Kori can get to the roof, she's watching to make sure that Pinkie Pie doesn't get off track. Also because she's never done this before and 1) she wants to see how the scavenger hunt goes and 2) she wants to see if Pinkie Pie likes her present.

The one place she didn't expect to be searching around was the library, but a hunt is a hunt! Pinkie creeped around the library, ducking behind book carts, peering around bookcases, and tumbling across aisles before landing in the right place. She pressed herself against shelves of books before quickly grabbing the book she needed, lifting it up, and took the piece of paper.

"A clue!"

The first clue had probably been easy, but this next one had a bit of riddle on it. Once she figured out the riddle, it would take her to training center. The next clue is not that far inside and actually taped to a tree. Not tacked since that would hurt the tree, but taped.

Pinkie looked at the riddle, turning it every whichaway. She couldn't figure it out. At least not yet!

The riddle reads: Cadets go here for a reward to grant for here you can fight a plant.

"...a reward?!" Pinkie scratched her head in confusion. "Well, the only place to fight a plant is the training center, but I have no clue about any reward!" She shrugged and headed off to the training center. "Maybe the present is the reward!"

Nope, the reward's not there. Just the note taped to the tree. This time it will send her classroom with a clue being to look around where she teaches. Somewhere in there is the next clue!

The training center was the same as any other day, so as Pinkie walked through, she kept an extra sharp eye out for any clues left for her. Not to mention she kept an eye out for monsters. Just as she leaped through a thicket of overhanging leaves, she caught sight of a peculiar note stuck to a tree, and a vine monster wrapped all around it.

"Hey! That's MY clue!!" Pinkie looked around for a stick before rushing over to try and at least pry the note away. Of course the creature just wrapped itself around the stick and snapped it to pieces. She looked at her now twig and tossed it aside before tossing an Blizzard spell it at. She didn't want to do that, but it gave her ittle choice. With the vine frozen, she easily retrieved the clue and read it.

"Look in the home ec classroom?" Now she wondered if anyone took any of the her stash of special sprinkles from there! Pinkie hurriedly set off for the next place, hoping to still see her treasure there, and find the next clue!

Nope, no one had taken any sprinkles. At least Koriand'r hadn't. If someone else had, it wasn't her fault.

The room was pretty much as it had been left except for a box sitting on the floor. It wasn't a fancy looking box, just a card board box with some green wrapping paper on it. A very deceptive looking box. It wasn't taped closed, but there was a red ribbon tied around it keeping it shut though. Almost at her present now.

Pinkie arrived and looked around, spotting the box immediately. She quickly made her way over to the box, but stopped short of touching it. At first, she poked it with a spatula she picked up, and after finding nothing moving around, she dived right into it.

It didn't do anything when she poked it with a spatula and nothing made any noise from inside. When she untied the ribbon and opened the box, two multicolored floated up from inside with a very small amount of confetti. One of the balloons doesn't float very high though since there is a small cloth bag tied to that with a tag that said in large friendly letters with a snowman in the background "Merry Christmas".

When she opened the bag, she'd find a necklace inside with a colorful cupcake charm on it.

The balloons that floated out and the confetti that accompanied it was the best surprise of the day! She blinked at the bag that was attached to one of them and caught it as it floated. Of course, Pinkie read the tag first before diving into the bag. With a soft gasp at the necklace, she held it up to examine it.

"Wow...this is so NEAT!" She looked around to see if anyone was around, but found no one. "But...who's it from?!"

She's quick to look, she'll spot the Tamaranean princess peeking in a window because she wanted to see Pinkie Pie's reaction. Yes, it was a secret santa thing, but she'd never done it before so she wanted to see even if she gets caught.

Pinkie stood up and as she attempted to collect the balloons, she noticed someone was staring at her. Blinking, Pinkie eventually grinned and waved. Seeing someone spy on you wasn't creepy to her.

Oh no, she was caught! ...Well, she wasn't completely knowledgeable on the fact of hiding who gave it completely. And she hadn't just handed it to her.

So she smiled brightly and waved back.

Pinkie went over to the window and opened it, then sticking her head out to look up at Koriand'r.

"Hey, are YOU the one who set this all up?!"

She smiled, floating down so that she could look at her directly. Yes, she is flying.

"I am. Did you like it?"

[Wow...flying! Pinkie doesn't answer for a while, but when she does...]

You're flying!!

"I am. It is one of things that my people can do. Almost everyone can fly."

"That's so AWESOME! But...why almost everyone?"

"Some people... who get ill at a young age... they just don't get the ability to fly."

It's not something that's pleasant for her, since the main person who couldn't was her sister.

"Oooohhh...but aren't there other ways to fly? Like with a jetpack?"

Everyone should be able to fly, in Pinkie's mind.

"There are ships that can fly. That's the only I know of for them to fly."

She thought everyone should too, just that it was a bad reminder.

"So you don't have jetpacks in your world?"

Was that what Koriand'r meant?

"No, we do not have jet packs on my world. They are on other worlds, but not mine."

"But if you don't have jetpacks in your world, how do you know about them?!"

"Because we can travel to other worlds. Other races that can't fly have them."

"Wow, so you're really well traveled, huh?!"

She clearly hesitated this time. "More than I would like to be."

"But...isn't it fun traveling around and discovering new places?"

"It is. But... much of the time it wasn't my choice to go to these new places. And I never saw anything of them. On Earth I get to. It's very nice there."

Trying to steer the conversation away from her time before getting to Earth.

"Do you like Earth more than your own home?"

So far it seemed to work.

"I'm still not sure about that. The people I've met have been very nice and I've been starting a job as a model on Earth. Something I'd never be able to do at home. But its... different from my home."

"A model?!" Pinkie had only seen models in magazines! "Do you think you'd wanna model here, too?"

She smiled. "I'd like to. But how would I do something like that? I've mainly just been a clothing model for magazines."

"Well...if Sharpie was still here, I bet she could help you!" Aww, sad face. Pinkie perked up, though. "But I'm not sure about where to start."

She though about that for a moment. "Maybe a could volunteer to be a model if the photography class needs one."

"Oh, hey! That's a GREAT idea! You probably know ALL about cameras, right?!"

"Well, not about cameras themselves. I posed in front of cameras before. My friend Donna does all my pictures."

"Oh, that's what I meant! You know all the great camera angles ans stuff! Right?!"

Don't dash her hopes!

"I do. I've always seen what Donna does and she's the best."
