These books won't shelve themselves (OPEN)
Characters: Eugene & YOU
Location: The library.
Rating: Rated E for Everyone.
Open/Closed/Finished: Open
Summary: Eugene shelves new books and has book feels. Enter if ye dare for more book feels.
He feels like a kid. That kid from the orphanage that brightened every single time someone would drop a new book to read on the foot of his bed. And then he'd run out and gather all the other kids together and would launch into the book, preface first, not caring to read the book's summary or peruse the covers. Eugene had always had a dream of living in luxury -- no lie -- and that was known to most people, but what they didn't know that, in that dream of tanning, wealth and solitary, he'd always have this huge library filled with books from all over the world.
He'd have geography books, constellation books, and when he'd learnt of prized gardens of the wealthy, he envisioned having books on all kinds of flora and fauna, and that he would even have flowers around his library. There would be comfy chairs and a hearth and a couch, because he always imagined that he'd fall asleep quite a bit in the library after reading book after book. It was Eugene's treasured dream, and while he doesn't have that library...he has a library.
Granted he has to share this library with the rest of Garden, but he doesn't mind that. He likes to watch these students peruse shelf after shelf for something to read, and to recommend series to them that he's sure they would enjoy. Couple of times, he's even picked up a couple books for Rapunzel, as he knows that she likes to read them as well. And it's certainly something absolutely wonderful to be able to talk about books with the girl who is Eugene's first and foremost dream.
As he shelves the new upcoming novels by writers native to this world, he flips to the third page of each and reads an excerpt before shelving it. He's keeping a mental list of what books to check out for later.
