Summary: Kory and Fionna watch movies

Well, the prom was over so as they had arranged, it was time to watch movies. Kory had gone and found some possible movies for them to watch. Now that she had done that, she was back at her room, having changed out of the prom dress and into something more comfortable. She was busy making sure everything was perfect.

Now she just had to wait for Fionna to get here.

"No problem," Kory said with a smile, sitting down.

"It's my pleasure to have you over. I don't have as many guests as I'm used to having around." She'd had a roommate back home and the tower always had others. "I did. He asked me to dance."

Fionna folded her legs under her, taking a breath. She had to gather her thoughts, because even talking about this frustrated her. Why did Namur have to make things difficult by hitting on every girl he thought was pretty? It was hard enough admitting he liked the dumb guy!

"Did...did you see him, when he danced with you, his expression?"

Kory waited patiently for her to be able to respond to her. It was obvious something was bothering her. About Namur? It had to be since that was the topic they were on.

"I did. He was being rather cute. Because you like him, you are worried about him acting like that with others?"

Fionna sighed.

"Now that I see him like that, I KNOW he's like that with others," she said, shuffling her legs. "I mean, he's a pirate, he does his own thing. It's not like he has a wife like Marco or anything. He does what he wants to."

Kory thought about that for a long moment, folding her legs under her. That had to be disappointing when Fionna liked him. She knew she would be disappointed if there was a guy she liked and he did something like that. Dick was bad enough with that and it wasn’t like he flirted with others.

“Maybe I can talk to him. Sometimes guys just need a bit of a hint. They aren’t as smart as we are about these things after all.”

The worst thing was, when she thought about it, was she really surprised? Namur was one of those guys that embodied everything a pirate WAS, and hitting on girls was likely to be right at the top of the list.

"I think if you did, he would just say it was what he's like," Fionna said, sighing. He's a pirate. I mean, its not like we're even dating."

No matter how much she wanted to.

"That's true. But it is also true that he shouldn't treat you like that if he's going to flirt with me. He clearly knows how to behave with women. He's just selective."

She would definitely do it. That wasn't right.

Fionna wrung her hands.

"GRAGGG! This is all so confusing! Emotions are just dumb! Why can't he just, like, not hit on girls and be how he is with me? It's just dumb! How do I know he's not just..."

She folder her arms around her knees. Just settling?

Kory moved over to sit next to her and wrapped an arm around her. She really did know this. She was aware what people thought when they looked at her and she usually ignored it.

“I know. They are dumb. There are just some guys who like to hit on girls and usually it doesn’t matter who it is. Like I said, I have no problems talking to him about it.”

"Namur is just a dumbhead. I mean yeah, you do look ten times hotter than me because you're way better with the maturity and the bazoobs and all. But when you start thinking that, you wonder if you've gotta change what you look like to get his attention."

She made a disgusted noise. "Which I'm not! If I want a guy who wanted to change me, I wouldn't like Namur in the first place!"

Kory looked a bit surprised that that those comments. Yes, she knew, but it still surprised her when someone came right out and said it so quickly. But she definitely did agree with what Fionna said. Completely.

“I agree. You shouldn’t have to change who you are or what you look like for someone. They should like you for who you are. Namur is not being smart. And you definitely are pretty. You really are.”

Fionna might as well be matter of fact about the situation. Kory was very pretty and she couldn't compare, just because she wasn't that build. But she was still her, and no one was gonna make her feel bad about that!

"Namur is between smart and dumb most of the time," Fionna agreed. "Guys are freaking nuts like that. Why they gotta be with more than one girl, I don't get."

"I don't get it either. Some of them want to be with more than one woman, some want to be with just one, some don't want to be with any of them. They are so strange sometimes."

She didn't want to make her friend feel uncomfortable. She really was aware of what people thought about her so she was used to that, but it did make others uncomfortable.

"But you know," she said, "I could just go up to him and ask him on a date. What's stoppin' me? Yeah, he's my teach and my family, but I gotta let him know I like him and wanna date him at least!"

She glowered. "Of course, he ALREADY knows that because of his stupid fish sense crud."

"You should just do that. I believe that everyone should speak their mind. If he doesn’t seem to be getting it, you should make sure that he does."

She scooted to sit a bit closer.

"'Fish sense' may not necessarily make him smarter about dealing with this sort of thing."

"He'll get it," Fionna said, smiling now. She actually felt better now. "He knew what he was getting into when it came to me. He's a pirate, he's seen worse!"

That she knew for a fact.

"Nah, he can sense hormone changes and junk like that. Nothing, like, important, like common sense or manners!"

Kory grinned, glad to see Fionna seemed a bit happier. Yes, Namur was being an idiot and he had been practically flirting with Kory, but she had no intention of actually dating him, especially when Fionna liked him.

“I’m sure he has so he’ll survive.”

“Well, I can see he doesn’t have as much in the way of manners… or he is selective about using them.”

Fionna knew that while she was gad Kory was happy for her, she would have to talk to Namur himself about this, and hat would be a different conversation entirely. Namur cared as much as someone that was family would, so there was no bones about that. Thatch and Ace would thump him for otherwise.

"He's a pirate," Fionna reminded her. "He's gonna be, uh, 'remiss' about doing that anyway." Thank you, Twilight.

That was something Kory would like her to do. As much as Fionna could talk to her about it, there was only so much that she could do without going to Namur either. She wasn’t able to solve the problem without talking to him. Well, at least not one that was helpful solution.

“I think so. But it still doesn’t hurt to point it out.”

"No, I'm gonna let him know, talk with him about it a little. I mean, he's my teacher too, I'm gonna have to see him no matter what happens really. Better to just go and get everything out in the open."

She shrugged. "Besides, weren't we gonna watch a movie?"

“That is true. You are going to have to talk to him at some point.”

Then it is almost like a light bulb goes off. “Yes! We were going to watch a movie! I grabbed a few of them. I think these options would work.”

She scrambled up to grab the movie options that she had found and brought them back over for Fionna to look at.

Fionna sat down, glad to at least be comfortable now. Dresses were good and all, but being in this was much better, more cozy.

"What did you have? Anything with fighting?"

Kory was the same. She liked dressing up, but at the same time she also preferred not having to dress up. Wearing her comfy clothes was much nicer.

"Yes, there are a few."

There were a couple of ninja-type flicks. There was also one about a princess who was fighting and protecting her kingdom and finding her prince.

"What do you think?"

Fionna gave her a curious look.

"Dude, you now that I'm gonna pick the princess one! Normally I'm all for ninjas and punching, but I kinda wanna see something cute, like this!"

Kory couldn’t help a grin.

“How did I know you would like that one."

It really was just a feeling that she had had. Fionna seemed like the type to like that kind of movie... and Kory did too.
