Let's All Go To The Movies

Who: Marco and Grell and anyone else who wants to join in/have a separate thread.
Where: In town, because Marco and Grell can both cheat to get there quickly and back XD
What: Watching a chocobo "movie" (or whatever you want to call it.) They might settle for a play, or races
Why: Because Marco's got nightmares and Grell is crazy.
Rating: Spoiler warnings for Marco just because, PROBABLY PG-13, I'll move up if something happens. (It's Grell and a pirate.)
OPEN! Just pop in and bring your own popcorn. Or steal some of Marco's. Whichever.



Really, to be fair, Marco didn't give a damn what Grell wore. He was a pirate after all. Half of the time, he just looked for excuses around campus to undo the buttons on his own shirt. And whether Grell was in the mood for skirts, pants, or a dress, it still didn't faze Marco. It was still going to be Grell underneath it all. The same cute red-head who'd just abruptly tried to kill him moments earlier and then in true kitten fashion was back to purring happily. Ah, romance on the high seas. Or the Garden. Whichever. "You ready?" the blond pirate asked hopefully for the tenth time.

Just like before, Grell completely lit up like a Christmas tree. If Marco had even debated having second thoughts they were instantly dashed away again by how happy Grell was; like a giant purring kitten who'd just managed to catch the biggest ball of yarn in the world to teethe on. He followed along, keeping up the pace and memorizing the city streets as he went. "What kind are you thinking of, eh?"

Indeed, Grell was already planning patterns, accessories, styles...had he not been holding Marco's hand, he would have forgotten he was there. Feel the love?

"I was thinking something tropical~. Definitely something red at least, like a shirt. Or sandals!" He tilted his head to the side in thought. "Too much red would make you look washed out."

"I always did look better in blue," Marco replied dryly. "It's one of the great things about being cocky, I can get away with wearing white shirts even in battle." A tropical shirt sounded interesting at least. And Marco generally preferred sandals anyway since it made it easier to switch to talons without disrupting anything.

Grell smirked with a chuckle. "You have a right to be. Hiding such a physique like this would be a crime." Lithe fingers walked up Marco's chest before they entered the shop. It was still open.

And it would be a playground for Grell.

"So many fabrics and designs. Yes...yes~! This will do!" And the Red Typhoon gets to work, picking out a few shirts and tossing others away. Poor sales girl. "No, too yellow....no...no...ugh! These are quite unflattering!" Grell tossed them to the side, not caring is the poor sales girl had to run to catch it.

Grell finally ended up picking outfit number one and two for Marco. "You can try these on for now~." He gave Marco a wide grin in accomplishment.

Marco spun around demonstrating the clothes for Grell and trying to model as best he could. "Very plaid," he noted. Over the jeans he tilted his head like a bird in the mirror. "I feel like that stupid marine chasing Ace's little brother." But hey, if Grell like it he could keep quiet.

Grell assessed the model very closely. Maybe even taking a bit too long. He gave a hum, whether of approval of the clothes are the man beneath them, it wasn't clear. "I think the first set works best..." He went over to the rack and got out another ensemble that was more fashion forward.

"Try this one~. If you need help, just ask."

"Now this is more like it," Marco grinned. It was a little loud for him, but the three-quarters pants and sandals were nice and relaxed in a piratical way, and the sash worked just like his own. He came back out and demonstrated, turning in a circle again. "What do you think, eh?" The shirt still seemed loud.

This outfit worked far better than the others. The shirt was a bit much though. Grell hummed in thought, circling the other before stopping just behind him. He leaned up towards Marco ear and spoke in a whisper.

"Take off the shirt."

Shivering at the whisper, Marco didn't even go back to the dressing room, just stripping it off and handing it back to Grell, proudly displaying his tattoo for his crew, same as ever. "Got something in mind?" Marco crooned back teasingly, "Or do you just like seeing me go topless?"

Yes, that tattoo on that delectable chest. Grell circled back to Marco's front with a Cheshire-like smile. "A lot of both, dearest. I'm certainly enjoying this." He went to a chair that was occupied by a pile of clothes that Grell came across, extracting two Hawaiian shirts and a light blue tank top for both.

"Here's your next challenge. The under shirt is optional. The shorts can stay."

No need to hide that beautiful torso now, right?

"These I like," Marco grinned ear to ear. He did too. The splash of red on the flowers for the white and the blue and other flowers on the black shirt were nice and not too overstated. He didn't bother with the tank top, preferring to leave the shirt loose and unbuttoned instead. "What do you think?" he asked back in deadpan.

Grell just nodded absentmindedly, tracing the tattoo with a finger and hungry grin. "I approve~."

"Guess I'll have to buy these then," Marco grinned back, running blue eyes over Grell to take in Grell's overjoyed expression.

"Why don't we split the cost?" Grell gave Marco a mischievous leer. "I have a feeling I'm going to be enjoying the clothes, too~."

Marco chuckled, "Nah, I wouldn't feel right kitten. Besides, I have a feeling I'm going to be buying you presents soon enough."

Hey, if Marco said not to pay and wait for presents, then Grell is gonna wait, damnit! He's not stupid. Grell tried to conceal his joy, but it came out as a light squeal as he rocked on the balls of his feet happily. He liked gifts! He liked them very much!

"If you say so."

Another chuckle and Marco tickled Grell under the chin, bringing the clothes over to the register to get them rung up. Way better than having to resort to the fancy dress uniform anyway. "I do say," and given Grell's expression, definitely worth it.

Grell grinned and waited while the clothes were being rung up, which didn't take long. Possibly the store clerks wanted the red menace to leave so they could tidy up their shop. Indeed, it looked as if a Typhoon had struck inside. Mission accomplished!

The night air was cool when they stepped out. There was a satisfied smile on Grell's face all the while. "This is the best...date yet!" Yep, Grell was considering this a date. The guy paid for the tickets, although Grell got them food...but Marco let him dress him up! That had to count as something.

"And I have you to thank~."

"Any time, eh," Marco grinned, stretching his arms to look like he was going to put them behind his head only to slip one around Grell's shoulders instead. "I had fun. And I needed that." It reminded him of home in a good way that didn't bring up any painful memories, just relieved stress. And after the continuous cycle of nightmares about his crew's deaths; he desperately needed that. He used his free hand to tickle under Grell's chin again, cupping it slightly, "I'm glad you had fun, that means it'll be easy to ask you out again sometime."

The arm around his shoulders made it easy for Grell to wrap both his own around Marco's waist, humming in content at the tickling. "Everyone needs some fun in their life, especially after this whole month." Green eyes looked into blue with a soft smirk. "Do I sense shyness, darling?"

Marco laughed at that, "Me, shy?" The forefinger stroked the red-head's chin away. "Never that."

"Good. I definitely need a man who is as <>bold as my hair." Grell gave his waist a squeeze before nuzzling his chin. "The night is still young~. Anything in particular you'd like to do?"

"Oh, I'm pretty bold, eh," Marco shrugged in deadpan, simply stating fact. "Too bad I'll never be as pretty as your hair though."

He paused and hesitated, unsure of how much to trust Grell given earlier, but he didn't want the red-head's memory of his phoenix form to just be violent. "I could use a moonlit flight over the ocean, with company." More tickling under the chin. "But if you yank any of my feathers I'm dropping you in it and I can't swim to rescue you."

"Only I can be pretty in this relationship. I'll not have competition." It has been spoken.

Grell blinked in curiosity at the suggestion before grinning at the very much not empty threat. "How romantic. A flight under a blanket of diamonds in the sky~, with the sunlit moon coating us.." He nodded softly with a sincere smile. "I promise to be a good girl."

"You better," Marco chided and started leading Grell down a back alley before stealing a quick kiss. "You think you can hold onto the bags or do you want to stop back by the room first?"
