Summary: Rinoa spends some time with Angelo. Cute happens.

[Anyone walking in the Quad is more than welcome to stumble across Rinoa, who's apparently playing catch with her dog Angelo. While there's still the usual "Go fetch" type scenario going on, there's still quite a bit of petting going on too. All in all it's entirely too adorable. Feel free to either get in on the cute or if you want come be a jerk because "omg isn't that a pet or something?!". Take your pick really.

Just... don't kick the puppy. Unpleasant things will happen.]

It's always good to have nakama with you. [Calm voice and just ruffles Angelo's fur more. Really he should stop before he develops some sort of puppy addiction... but... still petting.]

Nakama? [That wasn't a word she'd heard before.] What's that?

[Oh but Marco! If you stopped now Angelo might sad face, and you don't want that to happen do you?]

Friends, traveling companions, crewmates. It's the people you trust for life. For better or worse.

[:O Never that!! V_V *pets the puppy MORE*]

That's really nice, I think I like that. Nakama huh? I'll remember that.

[Much better! Angelo leans into him, panting happily. She's really appreciating the attention.]

Yeah, it's a common term where I'm from for people you keep close.

[Awww yaaaaay. Marco is secretly thrilled even if his face doesn't show it.]

I can see why! You'll have to teach me more about your language sometime. I'd love to learn more great words like that.

[Then we won't burst his bubble by mentioning that she likes attention from anyone no matter who they are then, so he'll stay feeling special.]

Well this is my language really, just a few extra words here and there I guess. Like den den mushis or seakings. Stuff that doesn't seem to exist here.

[Aww yay! He's a special birdie or something. XD]

Well then. You can just teach me these extra words and what they mean. Like... den den mushi? What's that?

[That's right, a special little birdie. ~~Even if he was just one of Angelo's adoring fans ultimately.~~]

You know how there's this communication system for here in the garden? Back home we have one that uses snails.

[All will bow before Angelo's brilliance.]

How can you use snails to communicate? [Rinoa settles down onto the ground, intent on learning more. Despite how it might have looked, she was actually a rather eager learner. It was why she liked books so much.]

[Angelo would take over the world someday, way scarier than any sorceress as she rules through cuteness and apparent adoration.]

Yeah! [Giant grin and snuggles Angelo.] My world uses animals for a lot of things. And the den den snails have sort of psychic powers so when you hook up machinery to them they can carry it a pretty good distance. The bigger the snail, the further it can send messages.

Psychic power? So they have some sort of magic? That's amazing!

[Angelo curled into Marco, enjoying the attention. Her little doggy heart was overflowing with satisfied puppy glee by this point.]

[Daw Angelo <3] Well I wouldn't call it magic. Without the machinery, it doesn't do anything. I guess it's kind of like that though.

[Is this what they call puppy love?] So it has to have a special machine to use it's ability?

[That's... more than a little weird.]

[Quite possibly.]

Well I think the den dens can talk to each other without the machines, it just won't sound like anything to humans. In order to use them to convey video or audio messages though they need the machinery, yes.

[How sweet.]

That makes sense then I guess. It takes a machine for us to be able to hear them or anything like that. Do you think they can talk to each other that way though? In some way we can't see?

Yeah probably. While we're having phone calls, they're probably talking to each other.

That's actually pretty neat to think about. Conversations during conversations!

[Quiet laugh.] Yeah, I guess so. But it's like when dog owners meet each other on a walk and the dogs meet each other too.

I've always wondered what they talk about. I bet Angelo has a lot to say after all!

[Loving headpats for said dog, that's a good girl.]

[Grins.] I'll bet. I always thought birds would have the most interesting things to say.

Birds? [Rinoa thinks on this for a minute, absently petting Angelo as she does so.] I guess that makes sense, they must have seen so much flying around and all.

Yeah, that too.

[Standing up, she ruffles Angelo's head fondly one last time before smoothing her skirt down.]

I should probably get going. I've got some stuff I should have read before tomorrow and I'd like to have it out of the way before dinner.

Nice meeting you though, I'm sure we'll see each other around campus!

You too! [Grins and gives Angelo a final pet.] See ya around sometime.
