"Date" has more than one meaning...
Character(s): Mr. Champloo and Pinkie Pie
Location: Hallways to Champloo's classroom
Rating: PG... unless the date goes much better than seems even possible...
Open/Closed/Finished: Closed
Summary: Pinkie Pie wants a date. Champloo agrees to give her one. Hilarity Ensues.
Outside the HEC classrooms -- the actual ones, not the massive kitchen in the basement -- a demon waits, leaned casually against the wall. Truth be told, he has absolutely no idea how this turn of events came out. But he'd agreed to meet Pinkie Pie for a date after class...

Spoons were flipped!
Eggs cracked in half perfectly!
GET A LOOK AT THAT FINE MIXING POWER!
All to a light little tune!

Pinkie hummed along to Champloo's tune, wondering what it was. She finished, though! It looked pretty perfect!
"BON APPETITE!"

In a flurry of motion, Champloo heaved forth the saucepan to pour perfectly-matched puddles of cream into each of the shells Pinkie had created. "This will be a magnificent feast!"

"That was SUPERBLY SUPER! Now can I add the sprinkles?!" She held up the container that holds the sprinkles, ready to

It rained for a while.

Nevertheless, she understood the essence of cooking -- that it came from the heart!
As he waited, he began peeling and slicing kiwi fruit with brisk motions of a knife.

"ALL DONE!" Pinkie jumped down and looked at her handiwork, capturing it in a picture frame made from her index fingers and thumbs. "Picture PERFECT!" Somehow, no sprinkles could be found on the crust. Odd.

His hands moved swiftly over the fruit and tarts, darting here and there to place fruit carefully atop the sprinkles like a Go player placing stones. Of course, he had left plenty of fruit for her as well.

"Chammy? Is this what people do on dates?" The question came out of nowhere, as most of her ideas did.

Not that he had a lot of experience in the field, mind, but being a wise mentor archetype meant he had a lot of commonsense wisdom about these thing.

"So dates are for just two people, right?" Because that was how it sounded.

Down in the Netherworld, they don't judge!

"...this is weird. I do all those things with friend back home in Equestira!" She folded her arms across her chest, looking miffed. "Why is 'dating' so...so..."
Talked about? Important--
"IMPORTANT?!" That was the word she was looking for.

"CAN I CLIMB A MOUNTAIN FOR LETTUCE?!" She so wanted that lettuce! Already she was fantasizing about some yummy dressing on it. "Let's climb it TOGETHER! That way, we can both have some!"
Obviously, she lost the concept he was explaining, but knew she wanted to have some lettuce with Champloo.

"That was a metaphor," he said patiently. "If there is really a secret lettuce of exquisite taste growing on a mountain somewhere, I don't know of it. But if I ever find out, then you can be the salt to my pepper when I seek it!"
no subject
...what? Didn't he sneeze?
"Promise?" She was a bit disappointed about there not being a mountain of lettuce, but she could deal.
