Summary: An excitable boy discovers everything new and glorious.

He hadn't quite understood what everything meant, but that hardly mattered when presented with all the new sights and sounds. Ginji ran back and forth like a child on Christmas; his eyes were wide and filled with awe, mouth agape and overflowing with 'oohs', 'wow!' and other little sounds of wonderment. Compared to Japan, everything seemed so different but exciting. In contrast to the spiraling towers, densely packed buildings and dirty streets of lower Mugenjou, it just seemed alien.

Nevertheless, every structure was given a curious touch, no bench was left empty--for as long as his patience could hold up, at least, and every passerby received a mirthful (and loud) greeting.

"I heard it's just best not to look a gift horse in the mouth. You may poke your eye out!" Of course Pinkie knew all the best horse references.

"A gift horse?" he questioned, eyebrows raised. "Like a Piñata?"

"Well, it's the same concept, except a Piñata doesn't have a big enough mouth to bite anything." Or so she thought. She's only saw a few different types of Piñata, and she wanted to make her own. A bit surprising she didn't already.

"So...don't look one in the mouth because it'll bite you? That kinda seems like it would be obvious, right? I don't think any horse would like someone staring in its mouth, except a Piñata because inside its mouth would be candy!" Delicious candy that he would gorge on until full, then complain about it. It would be worth it, though!

They are of the same mindset. Delicious, belly-aching candy!!

"I don't think horses mind as long as it doesn't hurt." Because horses needed to go to the dentist, too!

"So then, why would you not look one in the mouth if it isn't going to bite you, anyways?" This whole saying was getting a bit complicated for his tastes. What was the point of the horse? Or gifts?

"Why WOULD you like a horse in the mouth if you're not a dentist?! Plus, if gifts are shooting out of there like popcorn, do you really wanna be that close?! You might lose an eye!"

Pinkie was starting to second guess this saying, as well, but LO AND BEHOLD her logic shone through.

"Oh! I think I understand now!" he exclaimed, tapping a fist against the palm of his hand. "Flying gifts must be the reason why. Candy really is good, but if they fill it with the cheap, hard stuff it probably hurts if it pelts you."

This made so much sense, now.

"...I feel sorry for the person who coined the phrase, then. I wonder how many gifts they were hit in the face with before they realized that non-dentists shouldn't check horses for cavities?"

He's a GENIUS!!

"I dunno, but it must have been a DOOZY!"

Pinkie stuck out a hand quickly after jumping off her pogo stick. "I'm Pinkie Pie!"

They both were! They should obviously do this sort of problem-solving for a living.

He extended a hand and shook her own. "I'm Ginji! Your name sounds really cute--and delicious."

"Thanks! I live up to it!" Being pink and loving pies could do that. "Are you a student here? Because I know ALL the instructors, and...I don't know you! Well, BEFORE I didn'T know you, but NOW I do!"
