[Marco runs around setting everything up. There's platters of food laid out -- more than enough and some extra as a habit from dealing with Ace and 1600 pirates, a boombox with tons of music, beach volleyball set up, a campfire, and according to Selphie and Marco, fireworks for later. GO NUTS. There will be some threads set up, but you can make your own or do anything! Just remember if the thread gets wild, mark it as NSFW.]

[The net is strung up near the water so that as the tide comes in it'll purposely present an interesting challenge to the players. Or an advantage. It all depends on how you look at it. Play early or be prepared to get your feet wet!]

[Who is this fabulous beast looking for some honeys in bikinis to play volleyball with? Three guesses and the first two don't count. He'll play with anyone though really, so he bounces the ball and grins]

[Bats the ball up into the air and then flip-kicks it towards Thatch's face.]

[haki is a wonderful thing, you know? Thatch stops the ball dead with the side of his fist and let's it drop gently into his waiting hand where he lightly tosses it back]

Good job, pretty bird. Thatchett is proud!

You should be Thatchinator, you taught me how to play this game, you know.

[Oh, is that a challenge? It's so on. It'll be the most one-sided aggressive vs. one-sided calm and casual fight this beach will ever see!]

[He kicks it back by the way.]

I taught you a lot of things, eh? I don't remember volleyball being in them. [dances back until the ball's momentum has slowed and bounces it back gently, though low, to make Marco have to dive for it]

[That actually makes Marco blink in surprise. Was he misremembering?]

[Dives for it and bats it back over.]

Who was the pompadour wearing weirdo in the midst of all those girls? Must have been someone in your division, but I could have sworn...

Oh you were there? [Spikes it back] In a tide of beauty, who can see a wart?

[Flips him off and rolls his eyes, flip-kicking it back again.]

You look like Shanks when you do that you know. You sound like him too.

[Hey, volleyball! This looks like fun!

Tobias is dressed pretty casually for the party, even for his standards -- it's mostly just a loose t-shirt and shorts that are both a bit too big on his tiny frame paired with sandals today. He really was kind of filthy coming in, so being clean and in clean clothing is nice, even if they're going to be sandy and soaked in ocean water soon.

Right now, he's just hitting the ball up and down, bouncing it up from his hands, knees, and feet like an impromptu hackney sack.]

[Tobias glances over and smiles, bouncing the ball up once more before kicking it over towards Marco. There's clearly not much power behind it, but it should reach him no problem.]

[Bounces it on his knee a couple of times before gently kicking it back with his foot and a laugh.]

[Tobias manages to catch it with his foot, bouncing it up again to bounce it up and down on his head a little.

And back down to the leg... and back to Marco!]

Having fun kiddo? [Grins and bounces it backwards on his ankle, the leg turned outside, before hopping and giving another kick of the ball back.]

Yeah! [Tobias almost misses the ball this time, but manages to recover, bouncing it on his knee again.] I haven't gotten to do this before!

[Lightly bounces the ball back! A little easier this time.]

No? Well, it's about time, eh? [Grins.] So what do you think of your first beach party? Want another already?

[Tobias is a little nervous (still has to get used to new people again!), but he waves at Fionna.]

All right! [She would start with a pretty strong serve, arching up and comig down steady].

[Tobias rushes over, reaching up and smacking the ball back once it comes down to him. There's not a lot of power behind his hit -- it's more of a gentle sort of arc than any aggressive hit.]

[fionna_time]

[Starting off small? Fionna is cool with that. She gives it a nice bump to go higher, then follows up with a harder hot].

[Tobias just isn't that aggressive a... well, anything. And he's not actually played volleyball much, so small is good.

And at least he seems to be able to follow the ball pretty well! Pop, back over to Fionna it goes.]

[Fionna smiles. It's a pretty nice, easy game, and they're both hitting it well enough. But Fionna wants to liven things up a little, so next time she gives a sharp hit that goes a little farther in.]

[Tobias isn't quite expecting that, but he's quick enough to not quite lose it. Is he supposed to speed up now?

He hits it somewhat harder, sending it back and a bit further back himself.]
