Backdated to the weekend Beach Party and Birthday Log! \o/
[Marco runs around setting everything up. There's platters of food laid out -- more than enough and some extra as a habit from dealing with Ace and 1600 pirates, a boombox with tons of music, beach volleyball set up, a campfire, and according to Selphie and Marco, fireworks for later. GO NUTS. There will be some threads set up, but you can make your own or do anything! Just remember if the thread gets wild, mark it as NSFW.]

He sighs and tries to cheer up a little.] Well, since I'm here... [He still sounds a bit nervous. Actually, it's not just about the selection. Here's hoping nobody asks him about any missing deckchairs.
But he does find it in himself to reach down and pick up a handful of breadsticks, just enough to share.
Wait... was that last one on a platter, or just a plate someone happened to leave sitting unattended nearby? Nah, couldn't be.]

[SHARK! But don't worry. This one won't bite unless provoked. He's going for the sushi because that is probably the absolute best thing humans have ever done with a dead fish. In fact, Namur will be extra helpful, and lump a few pieces of sushi onto Yosuke's plate.]
no subject
Yeah, I'll... pass. [Most of the rest soon follow as he hastily brushes them aside.] Uh, thanks anyway. Although... I don't remember hearing anything about this being a costume party...
[He says this weakly, and it's probably clear he doesn't really believe it either.]

[Tones of "what the hell are you talking about?" are heavy in his voice. Look at them muscles, them tats and scars scattered over thick grey skin. Those aren't fake.]

[The breadsticks look innocent enough, though, and he is kind of starving - not that he didn't already know how much running around in a crazy monster-infested world tends to take out of you. He musters all courage he thinks he still has and loudly bites the top off one of them.]
Uh, anyway, nice to meet you. [Okay, "do you come here often" definitely isn't a good question to start off with, so what is...?] So... what are you, exactly?
[In his efforts to keep things conversational, he's spraying crumbs a little...]

Y' ever heard a mermaids? An' how they sing t' tempt sailors inta the water so they can drag 'em down t' the bottom a the sea an' feed 'em t' their monstrous husbands?
[He winks meaningfully. Then bursts out laughing and pops a piece of sushi into his mouth as he heads to the other end of the table to grab a drink.]

[He swallows and sighs again.]
...Kinda makes you wonder where they got all the fish here from.

Chika can't help but smile as she looks over at the food, dressed in a rather simple pink bikini. She had a t-shirt she was wearing over it before, but well... it went somewhere when she went swimming people.
Piyomon was off somewhere that wasn't the food, so Chika figured she should go get some while she could, taking a few pieces of sushi and a couple of pieces of bread herself.
She did blink a bit when she caught sight of the new guy, trying to think of if she saw him before.]
You're only eating bread?
no subject
...Uh, sorry, what?
no subject
Well, it looks like you've only grabbed some bread. You should probably try to eat more than that. You know, before Piyomon and Gaomon get to the food and you loose your chance.
[Digimon ate a lot, after all.]

[It's not yet dark enough out here for the flush in his cheeks to be anything other than really, really noticeable.]
Oh, did you want to get to the chips? [He hastily steps away from the table.] G-Go right ahead.
[And then he'll get to see her from behind, too. Man, he's a genius!]
no subject
Really? That usually makes me want to eat them more. You know, spite and all.
[ She's kidding. Mostly. Though now that Yosuke mentioned it, maybe chips would be a good idea. ]
Oh. Thanks.
[ She walks over to where the chips are... and gives him a bit of a wiggle of her ass as she walks. Yeah, she wasn't stupid dude. But as long as you didn't try to touch or anything, she could give you a bit of a look at least. ]
So... I guess you're pretty new here. Are you Hanamura-san? Or are you another new person here?
no subject
This doesn't mean he's stopped blushing. Actually, any boats passing by the beach would probably be able to use him as a beacon by this point. His breadsticks are practically forgotten already.]
Oh! Yeah, Yosuke Hanamura, that's me. Uh, did we talk...?
[He's really distracted right now, and surreptitiously adjusting the neck of his shirt.]

Hey! [He makes a wild grab for it anyway. It doesn't accomplish much, but he does narrowly avoid losing his balance or any more of his food.] Get your own!

Pi Pika!

[But it's difficult to keep up the stern act with the rat, well, crackling at him like that. Maybe it's some kind of robot. ...Maybe it's about to blow up. That would fall in line with the luck he seems to be having today.
He hangs his head.] Urgh, what am I even saying...?
no subject
[She lets the electricity drop, chewing on the breadstick and giving him a look equal to "You're a moron."]

Hey, that's mine!
[He knew he should have eaten it as soon as he'd loaded that plate.]
no subject
But once it does, it's pretty dramatic. He spins around, panicked and trailing crumbs.] W-What? Seriously?
no subject
[Glaring, Nate gingerly balances the cup he's holding onto a free spot of another plate (mostly containing chips, dip, and veges) before snatching the plate of breadsticks.]
Look, there's a difference between the plates and the platters. [He looks like he's about to add something else, but his gaze flicks down to Yosuke's translator, and he thinks better of it.]
no subject
[Quick, he's gotta think of some way to stop dragging the mood down...]
Uh, apart from that, you enjoying the party?
no subject
[He shrugs.] Some ["a lot"] of the food's weird. But the set up's okay, I guess.
[Not that he has much to compare it to.]
