Office Hours 3: Office Hourser

Summary: Once again, Snow is holding office hours!



Didn't matter if you were in his classes or not, really. Snow had claimed a classroom during free hours in the evening, and casually put around word that he was free to talk about any concerns, questions, problems, or general comments the students might have. His class, any class, whatever.

Of course, fellow SeeDs and Instructors could drop by too.

Unusually, this time around, Snow's actually at a desk, writing something. The world might possibly be coming to an end.

Questions and concerns? Well, most of related back to more girl problems than anything which Katara was sure Snow didn't want to hear about, but she liked the guy; she'd been in his Martial Arts class for the past two quarters and he was extremely amicable. She made a habit to pop into his office every now and then, and this was just another one of those evenings.

Katara knocked once before slowly opening the door to peer in.

"Are you busy?"

"A little, but I won't tell anyone if you don't," he said, tossing his pen aside with a grin. "C'mon in. How's the quarter treating you now that midterms are past?"

Katara gave him a smile before making her way into the office, taking a seat at the chair in front of his desk.

"Good! Classes are a little challenging now that it's almost the end, but I think I can handle it. I'm a bit nervous though-- I can't believe I'll be graduating after this quarter."

"I can, but then again I'm looking at you from the outside," he said, grinning. He folded his arms, still good-natured but a little more serious, and continued. "You feeling ready? Prepared, everything you need in your head still?"

Katara took a moment to considering his question. It was hard to believe a full year had passed, and there had been so much new knowledge taken in during the time span. Things she had never dreamed of from her home, advancement in technology that she couldn't even begin to comprehend when she first arrived...

Katara breathed in deeply before finally giving Snow a small nod. "I think so. I'll probably have to brush up on things before the final test, but I think I'm ready."

"Then you'll do fine," he said, utterly confident. If she said she was ready, he believed she'd pass without question.

"You gonna stay at the SeeD level, or are you thinking about moving up to teaching?"

It was a question that Katara asked herself often the past semester now that graduation was nearing, so it didn't take much thought for her to answer Snow.

"I think I'll stay at the SeeD level for now... since I'm focusing on Battlefield Medicine, I think it's important to gain field experience before I can actually teach any of the subjects. Plus I'm still pretty young..."

"Fair enough. For what my opinion's worth, you'd be great. Then again, they let me teach, so maybe the standards are a bit low." He grinned, leaning lazily back in his chair.

But a little more seriously... "There's probably going to be enough other graduates with you that your skill'll be needed. Once you guys go out and nail some amazing field exam, I wouldn't be surprised if Garden started getting more missions. I think that experience might be quick in coming."
