Summary: BEACH PARTY

Three days of sun, sand, and complete, unbridled fun--that was what Kiden had advertised, and she'd delivered. The slice of bright blue beach Nida had found for them stretched on one side into cliffs and a cove on the other, sheltered enough to be easily defensible but open enough not to make them targets. If they felt like exploring, well, the wildlife wasn't too much of a hassle, and apparently the jungle is lovely?

They had tents, food and drinks (lots of drinks) and plenty of other interesting things to last for the next three days--and Kiden, for one, was planning to make the most of it.

[Rikku sighs and swims over, coming to stand near by.]

C'mon, can't you swim?

We don't exactly have large bodies of water in Basel.

Aw, man, that bites. And you haven't taken swimming yet, I bet. [Ding!] I could try and teach you!

[He looks momentarily startled at her suggestion.]

Out here in the ocean? With... [He shoots a glance over his shoulder at the people there.] With all those people around?

Yeah! I mean, a lake or oasis is a little better for swimming, according to everyone back home, but you can least learn to float out here. [She glances at the people and waves at one] The guys on shore won't mind.

[Zephyr crosses his arms across his chest protectively before nodding, albeit a little grudgingly.]

Yeah, okay... Fine.

[He gives her an unsure look but walks further into the water. When it gets to about chest level, though, he stops again.]

[Zephyr keeps going until the water's just below his chin. The waves make his body rock in the water a little, and he's not willing to go any further than that.

Head tilted slightly backwards, he turns slowly to face Rikku.]

[Zephyr does just that, taking an extra large gulp of air as he does so and squeezing his eyes shut.]

[Rikku's got her arms spread out underneath him, making sure to keep his head up]

[Zephyr cracks one eye open when he notices that he's not sinking! At her words, though, he rights himself; he's not quite comfortable in the water to actually open his mouth while floating just yet.]

...I guess. Feels weird floating on the water.

[Really, the only reason why he hasn't throw in the towel already is because Rikku's teaching. Time alone with a cute girl in a bikini? Sure... Why not!]

I've heard stories about him making people hold their breath for like... twenty minutes!

It's a Spira thing. I can hold my breath for about ten minutes, no sweat. Pro blitzers can hold it longer, and Jecht's a pro blitzer who forgets that not everyone else is.
