Summary: BEACH PARTY

Three days of sun, sand, and complete, unbridled fun--that was what Kiden had advertised, and she'd delivered. The slice of bright blue beach Nida had found for them stretched on one side into cliffs and a cove on the other, sheltered enough to be easily defensible but open enough not to make them targets. If they felt like exploring, well, the wildlife wasn't too much of a hassle, and apparently the jungle is lovely?

They had tents, food and drinks (lots of drinks) and plenty of other interesting things to last for the next three days--and Kiden, for one, was planning to make the most of it.

[ Unlike some doubters, Kairi knows bare-handed is where it's at! In fact, she's a little ways away, kneeling on the sand with a small basket and a sharp stone, ready to catch and skin the fish Riku throws her. ]

[Damn right, Kairi! The naysayers don't know what they're missing.

With Kairi set up on the beach and ready for him, Riku gets to work, eying the fish around him carefully with his arms bent back at the elbow so that he can quickly get his hands in and out of the water.

And success! The first catch. He turns around and toss it to her.] Heads up! It's pretty lively.

[ She catches the wriggling thing and tucks it in the basket with a breathed apology. She'll pull it out when it stops thrashing. ]

Keep 'em coming, Riku!

[ She realizes she hasn't...really seen Riku in a year. No duh, Kairi, but the difference is more startling than she'd expected. Of course, it's still Riku, nothing is awkward, but he's--they aren't exactly kids, anymore. ]

[He wonders for a moment as he eyes more of the fish around him if he should be offering to do the dirty deed as it were. Kairi could fish too, but all the work that their parents used to do when they were little to prepare them -- the killing and skinning -- maybe he should offer so she'd feel a little more comfy.

His hands fly in again, but this time, missing the fish. Darn slippery things. But the next was a successful catch and he tosses it back to her, oblivious to whatever she was thinking about.] You okay over there?
