PARTY LIKE A ROCK STAR
Character(s): ERRYBODY (who signed up! ...or who wants to come, just tag in guys s'all good)
Location: UP IN HERE (aka the beach in Galbadia)
Rating: THROUGH THE ROOF (G to R)
Open/Closed/Finished: OPEN LIKE A MINIBAR
Summary: BEACH PARTY
Three days of sun, sand, and complete, unbridled fun--that was what Kiden had advertised, and she'd delivered. The slice of bright blue beach Nida had found for them stretched on one side into cliffs and a cove on the other, sheltered enough to be easily defensible but open enough not to make them targets. If they felt like exploring, well, the wildlife wasn't too much of a hassle, and apparently the jungle is lovely?
They had tents, food and drinks (lots of drinks) and plenty of other interesting things to last for the next three days--and Kiden, for one, was planning to make the most of it.

haha. ha. aren't we just full of wit and verve tonight.]
no subject
like oscar wilde tonight.]
no subject
I can't wait for you to be sentenced to hard labor in Australia then.]
no subject
rude.]
no subject
you brought it on yourself. although if you'd like rude, Rose deciding that getting a handle on herself is more important than backing up her statements and breaking the kiss probably qualifies.]
no subject
have some uh. blinking and a barely concealed "oh god did I really just do that" sort of look.]
no subject
Yes, well. There you go.

... ah.

Nothing of consequence.
[dismissive.
yeah he'll ignore it, even if he doesn't like the idea much. and even if he doesn't like the fact that he doesn't like the idea of ignoring it. act like it never happened? less likely.]

[she stands as well, angled a little away from him and still brushing at stray patches of sand on her shoulders. Rose feels like she's made a misstep despite apparently sidestepping everything, and she likes that about as much as she's liked anything she's been feeling in the past few minutes.
this beach party was a bad idea. she really should have learned her lesson from the last social gathering she went to.]

[tone forced flat and even. not looking up from his equipment at all.
life is hard.]
no subject
[and with that she leaves, posture ramrod straight and step quick.
it's hard and Rose doesn't really want to understand.]
no subject
well at least that's mutual.]

HEY GUYS I'M FASHIONABLY LATE TO THE PARTY]What's up with you?
[ BEST TIME TO COME IN AMIRITE? ]
no subject
A briar came to pierce my side for a few moments and then left again. Nothing that you need to concern yourself over.
[does not want to talk about it.]
no subject
[ A pause. ] What's this song?
no subject
[...shit he recognizes it fuck why is it that...]
... Rose of Jericho.
no subject
Rose of Jericho? What kind of name's that?
[ ... ]
.. D'ya think.. Rose's okay?
[ blue rose, mind you. she doesn't know anything about purple rose yet!! ]
no subject
An excellent name.
[...and that makes him take pause.]
I... certainly hope so. That's really all that I can do, I don't like it, I'd love to be able to do more, if I could leave this place and return to our session I would do so without a moment's hesitation.
But I can't.
I can't... do anything here.
[david you are drunk.]
no subject
Sure.
[ she listens, and she's not sure if david's being open because it's her he's talking to, or if he's..just... being weird. Maybe it's a little bit of both.
Either way, she shrugs- and then for the first time realizes, actually understands, that she is not needed in the session anymore. She did her job. There was no reason for her to go home. There was reason for David, but.. not her. And if David left... he'd be leaving her, too. Just like Bro did. Just like Lalonde senior did. Just like her alpha self did.
Jadesprite mumbles after biting into her creamsicle; ]
... You just have to wait then, I guess. I dunno, they gotta fix that stuff, right? I forgot- I wasn't paying attention when they explained about the timey wimey stuff. But I bet you'll go home. I mean, you have to ... what would they do without you?

He listens as she speaks, working the turntables and synths--not nearly as practiced as his Strider counterpart, the scratching and beat juggling far less intricate, but the aptitude is definitely there--and queueing up another track.
David takes a long sip from the bottle in front of him--apple juice now, not stout or any of the other potent potables he's broken into over the course of this trip so far.
Part of him thinks his friends might be better off without him. He doesn't particularly care to listen to that part. He knows they need him, for better or for worse, and he needs them just as much. Maybe even more so. He promised himself once that no matter what happened, even if they were to start hating him, he would always be there for them.]
I've really got no choice in the matter, have I?
Even if we're doomed to failure, we must not, cannot, fail to fight against it. The game will be won, or otherwise broken.
[this is just said...matter-of-factly. he can't muster the usual fire he might put behind that, not right now.]
no subject
[ She nods. ]
There's no way in hell we're gonna stop now. We gotta keep fighting 'til there's no more fight left to fight.
[ Hearing herself say that reassures her; even if she isn't needed, she was definitely going to go back. She needed to make sure the alphas would make it through- and if there was even the slightest possibility that her presence was needed, then Jadesprite would do everything in her power to go. ]
You guys are definitely gonna win.

[ She quietly bites her creamsicle. ]
You're pretty talkative today.
