PARTY LIKE A ROCK STAR

Character(s): ERRYBODY (who signed up! ...or who wants to come, just tag in guys s'all good)

Location: UP IN HERE (aka the beach in Galbadia)

Rating: THROUGH THE ROOF (G to R)

Open/Closed/Finished: OPEN LIKE A MINIBAR

Summary: BEACH PARTY

Three days of sun, sand, and complete, unbridled fun--that was what Kiden had advertised, and she'd delivered. The slice of bright blue beach Nida had found for them stretched on one side into cliffs and a cove on the other, sheltered enough to be easily defensible but open enough not to make them targets. If they felt like exploring, well, the wildlife wasn't too much of a hassle, and apparently the jungle is lovely?

They had tents, food and drinks (lots of drinks) and plenty of other interesting things to last for the next three days--and Kiden, for one, was planning to make the most of it.

[At that, he laughs and nods his head.]

We can probably let you try some of our food that doesn't have raw fish in it first.

[Yukio thinks about this for a moment. While it's true that Rin is easily the better cook of the two of them, he's not totally incapable.]

We could try making some sushi rolls.

I'll try anything once! —as long as I can already tell it's bad, that is.

[ They're at the tent, now, and she opens it up one-handed and starts feeling around inside— until she bumps against her bucket and pulls it out. ]

Here we go! [ Setting it down in the sand, she drops to her knees and starts unhooking the poor fish. ]

Say— what's... Sooshee?
spareglasses: (in the spring--we'd make meat helmets.)

[She really is good at this... living off nature thing. Yukio's a little envious as she watches her work.]

Sushi is a type of food we have back home. There're different types--like the raw fish I was talking about earlier; we call that sashimi. We also have all kinds of rolls, which you can make with cooked meats.

[He pauses for a moment.]

Most of the rolls are made of rice and seaweed, and you have some stuff on the inside that makes them unique.

Sasheemee... [ Gosh, these words sure are weird. She takes a long look at the fish... And from his description, is imagining laying the first in rice the way it is, and... Eating it.

It does not sound appealing to her, at all. ]

I guess it doesn't sound too bad, if you cook everything first. But... [ She looks back down at the fish... And cringes. ]
spareglasses: (do i make you horny? randy?)

[personal profile] spareglasses 2011-11-22 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[He catches the look and laughs, shaking his head.]

You have to clean and prepare the fish before you eat it. Usually, you cut it into small pieces.

[Does that actually sound any better? Maybe not, but... It can't be worse than imagining eating a whole fish raw, right?]

But... We'll definitely start with the cooked stuff first and go from there for you. [A pause.] ...If you want to try it, of course.

[personal profile] brightens 2011-11-24 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
Ooooh... That makes more sense than just eating it like this.

[ It does sound a little better... But not much. There's really not much that could be worse than eating an entire fish without cooking it. ]

I want to try it! It doesn't sound all that bad.
spareglasses: (sake it to me baby!)

[personal profile] spareglasses 2011-11-25 03:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Let's give it a shot sometime then.

[He nods his head and then grins, strangely excited about the thought of getting to make sushi for someone.]

We can figure out what sort of things you want inside your sushi, too, and make it more personalized.
brightens: (Default)

[personal profile] brightens 2011-11-26 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
You can personalize it? [ This is sounding more and more like something she wants to do.

Successfully unhooking the fish, she bends down to scoop up the bucket. ]
Alright! One fish down, about, mmm... Three more to go.
spareglasses: (an evil petting zoo?)

[personal profile] spareglasses 2011-11-28 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah! You can pick out your own ingredients and stick them in. Otherwise, you can just go with some of the classics.

[And with her next words, he tilts his head back toward the water.]

Back to the waterline then.

I bet people come up with some really weird stuff if they do that... [ Swinging her bucket as she walks along...

Yukio may not know it but he's about to get taught out to use a Binding Rod. She's decided! Fun-Having 101 is about to begin, yep! ]
spareglasses: (do i make you horny? randy?)

[personal profile] spareglasses 2011-11-28 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I kind of have to agree... People come up with some really weird flavors for all sorts of things back home.

[Ice cream flavors, for instance! But seeing as he's already grossed Vanille out once today, he'll... leave it at that and follow her back out to the water.

Is he ready to be taught how to use a bind rod? Well, he won't have long to wonder--not that he really expects it to begin with.
]

[personal profile] brightens 2011-12-03 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Vanille would personally have no qualm with creative ice cream flavors, thank you very much.

Once they're there, she actually makes her way over to the nearby dock, reaching up to place the bucket there. She'll need both of her hands if she's to teach him, after all. ]

Okay! Are you ready for class, Mr. Oh-koo-moo-ra?
spareglasses: (remember when we froze your semen?)

[personal profile] spareglasses 2011-12-11 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Huh? Class?

[Yukio jerks his gaze away from the water to stare at her blankly. For someone so bright, it does take him a while to understand that it's finally time for him to try fishing with her supped-up fishing rod.]

...Are you sure this is really a good idea?

[After all, he might just poke someone's eye out with this thing or just look like a total idiot handling it...]
brightens: (headtilty ☀ Thinkin' about it..)

[personal profile] brightens 2011-12-11 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
I think so! I'll be here to help you, just in case..! [ And even if someone does get hurt during the learning process, he's talking to a draw point for cure spells— unless he accidentally draws the wrong thing, they should be fine (not to mention she keeps a fine stock handy, anyway). ] I wouldn't let you use it without showing you first, anyway.

[ How to stand, how to cast it... Things like that. She steps a little closer to him— in fact, extremely close, wrapping her arms around his middle and holding out the rod in front of him for him to grab hold of, pressing a cheek into his bicep. ]

First, just hold it in front of you... Like this, only, with your hands instead of mine!
spareglasses: (no--actually--i'm english.)

[personal profile] spareglasses 2011-12-14 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
[Just like when she had greeted him with a hug earlier, Yukio again freezes the second she gets closer. He tries his best to focus on how she's holding the rod, but the heat in his cheeks suggests that his attention is... not all there.

He gulps but takes the rod with his own hands, taking almost too much care in trying to avoid her hands in the process. For the record, it doesn't work too well.
]

...Like this?
brightens: (Default)

[personal profile] brightens 2011-12-14 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[ She nods, slipping her hands down to his arms instead of over his hands. ] Mmhm! Just like that. And when you want to cast, you raise it up like this... [ She guides his arms up, slowly, so that it doesn't accidentally throw out the line before he's ready... ]

And then push it down, like this... [ She lowers his arms, while also pushing against his back with her chest. ] And lean forward! So it'll toss it out further.
spareglasses: (they're mutated sea bass.)

[personal profile] spareglasses 2011-12-20 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
[Suddenly, Yukio wonders if this is how Rin feels in class. He can't seem to pay attention to Vanille's words, and his attempts to follow her instructions are stiff, awkward, and done rather blindly. Really, it's quite a feat that he doesn't accidentally snag one of them on the line as he throws it out.

Getting this close to a girl isn't... normal, is it? He gulps and stares pointedly at the end of the rod, willing himself not to do anything stupid. A nervous laugh escapes his lips.
]

...Well, that wasn't too hard.
brightens: (Default)

[personal profile] brightens 2011-12-21 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
[ Vanille seems to think it's entirely normal, seeing as she's not at all uncomfortable with it. ]

That was great..! See, you're a pro already. [ Okay, not really, his form could use a little work, but, it could have been much much worse. ]

And now... We wait for another fish!
spareglasses: (one swedish-made penis enlarger.)

[personal profile] spareglasses 2011-12-25 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Right. Maybe it'll come sooner this time...

[Because if it doesn't, it's entirely possible Yukio may do something... silly. Or embarrassing. Possibly both! Really, the only good thing is that at this angle, it's a bit hard for Vanille to see the blush slowly but oh-so-surely creeping into his cheeks.

...Right?

He tries for some distracting conversation.
]

So... How long have you been fishing this way?
brightens: (hug ☀ Not groping Fang not groping Fang)

[personal profile] brightens 2011-12-26 09:27 am (UTC)(link)
[ She hasn't completely backed away from him, yet— in fact, she seems pretty content where she is, leaving her arms wrapped around his middle and her face pressed up against the side of his arm, watching the line for any tell-tale signs of struggle. ]

Um... Kind of a long time. [ Check out my vague answer.

She does elaborate, though: ]
It's not really supposed to be used like this, but... I sort of improvised. It's kind of like a regular fishing pole, right? But a regular fishing pole would be harder to fight with. When you need to find food, you just find a way!

[ Even if it means beating people up after they treated you to lunch (but called you barbarians mid-meal)... ]
