Summary: BEACH PARTY

Three days of sun, sand, and complete, unbridled fun--that was what Kiden had advertised, and she'd delivered. The slice of bright blue beach Nida had found for them stretched on one side into cliffs and a cove on the other, sheltered enough to be easily defensible but open enough not to make them targets. If they felt like exploring, well, the wildlife wasn't too much of a hassle, and apparently the jungle is lovely?

They had tents, food and drinks (lots of drinks) and plenty of other interesting things to last for the next three days--and Kiden, for one, was planning to make the most of it.

[Stretches before putting on her shades as she heads to the beach. Kate's got a cover-up over her bikini (purple of course), a duffel bag over one shoulder and a beach bag over another, and she's ready for a weekend of hopefully fun and/or relaxation.]

[ When she gets onto the beach she may notice some strange her sitting under an umbrella in a shirt and pants. Clearly she must be beach ready.

She has a book out and is reading it, while glancing up at everyone else every once in a while.]

[Dumps her stuff near Sasha's, but far enough away that she doesn't crowd her. As he pulls out her towel, she spares a look at the other girl.]

[ She looks over at the other girl, holding her place open with a finger in the book. ]

Did you not have shorts, or...? [Really wasn't sure how to ask that question without sounding really rude.]

Uh, sorry. [Sits on her towel.] What are you reading?

Just some book I took from the library. I'm only half paying attention to it.

Oh no you're fine. I'm.. not the most sociable... but listening to others talk is nice. [ Holds out her hand. ] Sasha.

It's fine, I was just worried I was rambling and you wanted to be left to your book. [Shakes Sasha's hand and tries not to stare at the mask on her face.] Nice to meet you.

Not all that long actually. I showed up as people were taking finals.

Do vigilantes in your world kill people? ...And you guys still have sidekicks?

Pretty much. Maybe a week or two apart, but otherwise total newbies. [Looks up at the sky.] It's weird how so many people seem to be content to be stuck here. Like they don't want to go home...

Not usually. and I guess we do?

I'm kind of indifferent. ... My mentor is here, so nothing of loss back home, but he doesnt know me here so either way it doesn't matter.

We have vigilantes too, but no sidekicks. The only sidekick I can think of sort of died in World War II...

I'd heard people could come from different times, but the only person who seems to be from my world I've never heard of before... That really sucks, I'm sorry.

It does suck... Got him to believe me though, so theres that?

Well everyone thought Bucky died... in a very brutal way. It turned out he didn't die after all, but everyone only found out many years later.

[Nods.] Definitely. That's the hardest part, I'd think, so now you can focus on getting to know each other again...

[ Kiden is running past, having utterly ditched her stuff, and is giving Kate a look over her shoulder as if implying she is the most boring person Kiden has ever known. ]
