PARTY LIKE A ROCK STAR
Character(s): ERRYBODY (who signed up! ...or who wants to come, just tag in guys s'all good)
Location: UP IN HERE (aka the beach in Galbadia)
Rating: THROUGH THE ROOF (G to R)
Open/Closed/Finished: OPEN LIKE A MINIBAR
Summary: BEACH PARTY
Three days of sun, sand, and complete, unbridled fun--that was what Kiden had advertised, and she'd delivered. The slice of bright blue beach Nida had found for them stretched on one side into cliffs and a cove on the other, sheltered enough to be easily defensible but open enough not to make them targets. If they felt like exploring, well, the wildlife wasn't too much of a hassle, and apparently the jungle is lovely?
They had tents, food and drinks (lots of drinks) and plenty of other interesting things to last for the next three days--and Kiden, for one, was planning to make the most of it.

Leaps in celebration. ] Caught you..!
no subject
Not bad! Great job.
[Yukio edges a little closer to get a better look at the fish. After all, it's his first time seeing a freshly caught... well, anything since arriving here.]
All your work has paid off!
no subject
Sure has! And he looks like a good enough size to make a nice dinner, too.
[ She's been excited about being able to make herself and Hope something for dinner this entire time... Fishing was fun, but cooking and eating the fish afterward was the best part. It was a good thing she'd had Fang teach her how to scale them, too. ]
I guess we need to go to shore and get a bucket, though.
no subject
If you plan to catch some more, I can grab one for you.
[There's a moment's pause, and a sheepish grin spreads across his features.]
You'll have to tell me where you kept it though.
[After all, he certainly didn't bring any buckets to the beach. He had had no plans to fish or make sandcastles after all.]
no subject
[ She's already going to have to hold the fish on the line while he flops around crazily anyway; she might as well walk with him so she doesn't have to try to describe where, in her pile of things, she put her bucket.
She cants her head toward the shore, in the direction of her tent. ] Come on!
no subject
Have you tried any of the fish here? [A brief pause.] ...Raw?
[Because if there's one thing that Yukio's missed about the food from home, it's his beloved sashimi. If he could be guaranteed high quality and fresh fish, he may have managed the courage to try and make his own here, but as he had never been able to confirm all the fishy details to his satisfaction, he's yet to try anything since arriving here.
no subject
Completely awful. She makes a face. ] Uh uh.
no subject
Yeah. Raw seafood. It's... a special type of cuisine we have back at home.
[He shrugs his shoulders.]
I can understand why it sounds disgusting though. Most cultures don't eat raw meat of any kind.
no subject
[ She prefers hers cooked, definitely... ] You haven't been able to find any made like that, here?
no subject
[He shrugs.]
I probably could've tried something by now, but I'm wary about eating it and then getting sick.
no subject
[ Isn't she the smartest. ]
no subject
All the same, Yukio laughs a little nervously.]
I'd rather avoid getting sick, period, if at all possibly.
no subject
Maybe you'll find someone who makes uncooked fish someday, though! Maybe I'll even try some.
[ Big maybe. Huge. ]
no subject
We can probably let you try some of our food that doesn't have raw fish in it first.
[Yukio thinks about this for a moment. While it's true that Rin is easily the better cook of the two of them, he's not totally incapable.]
We could try making some sushi rolls.
no subject
[ They're at the tent, now, and she opens it up one-handed and starts feeling around inside— until she bumps against her bucket and pulls it out. ]
Here we go! [ Setting it down in the sand, she drops to her knees and starts unhooking the poor fish. ]
Say— what's... Sooshee?
no subject
Sushi is a type of food we have back home. There're different types--like the raw fish I was talking about earlier; we call that sashimi. We also have all kinds of rolls, which you can make with cooked meats.
[He pauses for a moment.]
Most of the rolls are made of rice and seaweed, and you have some stuff on the inside that makes them unique.
no subject
It does not sound appealing to her, at all. ]
I guess it doesn't sound too bad, if you cook everything first. But... [ She looks back down at the fish... And cringes. ]
no subject
You have to clean and prepare the fish before you eat it. Usually, you cut it into small pieces.
[Does that actually sound any better? Maybe not, but... It can't be worse than imagining eating a whole fish raw, right?]
But... We'll definitely start with the cooked stuff first and go from there for you. [A pause.] ...If you want to try it, of course.
no subject
[ It does sound a little better... But not much. There's really not much that could be worse than eating an entire fish without cooking it. ]
I want to try it! It doesn't sound all that bad.
no subject
[He nods his head and then grins, strangely excited about the thought of getting to make sushi for someone.]
We can figure out what sort of things you want inside your sushi, too, and make it more personalized.
no subject
Successfully unhooking the fish, she bends down to scoop up the bucket. ] Alright! One fish down, about, mmm... Three more to go.
no subject
[And with her next words, he tilts his head back toward the water.]
Back to the waterline then.
no subject
Yukio may not know it but he's about to get taught out to use a Binding Rod. She's decided! Fun-Having 101 is about to begin, yep! ]
no subject
[Ice cream flavors, for instance! But seeing as he's already grossed Vanille out once today, he'll... leave it at that and follow her back out to the water.
Is he ready to be taught how to use a bind rod? Well, he won't have long to wonder--not that he really expects it to begin with.]
no subject
Once they're there, she actually makes her way over to the nearby dock, reaching up to place the bucket there. She'll need both of her hands if she's to teach him, after all. ]
Okay! Are you ready for class, Mr. Oh-koo-moo-ra?
